Oh yes, she does!!! it’s hot in Houston, so I can see why we are not in the mood for family pictures... but it’s cool in the studio. Let’s do this. I get so excited to catch a newborn smiling during their photography session with me.
This happy little girl smiled more than once... She was so comfy and warm ... having so many good dreams and just kept those smiles rolling. If my clients don’t print this picture out and hang it on their wall, I might just have to do it for them! I mean… how stinking cute is that smile?!?! Capturing a newborn smiling, always reminds me of catching a butterfly... sometimes it happens so quickly and then it fades away.

Most of the time newborn babies either have little or almost no eyelashes at the age of their newborn session. This baby girl has some super long eyelashes, especially for being a preemie. I’m jealous are you jealous? # preemie

The USA and baby Kara share the same birth month. America is quite the old lady at 250 years older than her. This flag prop is my number one requested prop for July / January babies and Military families. I keep it out on display all year round for clients to use with their newborns. She is sleeping so comfortably in the nest I made with fluffy fabrics in the bowl, it’s almost womb like. I wrapped her in the July birthstone color (ruby) to complement the flag. At the time of her newborn session, she was less than two weeks old and only made a peep one time during her 3 hour session. Expecting a new baby and in the Greater Houston area?

2 week old baby Kara is a little ray of sunshine. Her Mamma picked out the yellow backdrop from my collection and loved the lace romper for her tiny 5 pound baby girl. ❤️
She is the smallest baby I’ve
photographed in the last 4 years. In my studio, I supply all the newborn prop clothing, so parents don’t need to bring a thing to their newborn session. My newborn clothing ranges from a preemie size up to a 20 pound baby (ouch!). Most store bought or Amazon newborn clothing is too large to be worn for a photography session... the baby gets lost in the outfit. To provide a special service to my clients, I have a tiny “newborn closet”. I’ve collected special handmade pieces from vendors worldwide that specialize in baby clothing that actually fits a tiny newborn.

My Newborn Client will be here soon, and I’m preparing the fabric colors that we will be using today. When planning the Newborn session, have a phone conversation with my client and we discuss the colors in the nursery and the colors of her home so that the session style will complement the decor in her home. The goal is to have a piece of artwork of her baby hanging on the walls of her home... and we want it to match. Follow to see the results from the session to be posted next week.
