I found another treasure… This was my very first maternity session. My subject was young teenage mom and also my friend. I did a University level Photography series documenting her pregnancy. Out of the series, this is the only one I can locate. I’m looking at this now and see how timeless it is. If I didn’t know, I can’t tell if the picture was captured last week or almost 30 years ago. I still lean to timeless photography instead of keeping up with the constant changing trends. The year was 1997. Did you guess close?

feel like I found a treasure in my closet today. If you don’t know, I’m a Newborn photographer in Northwest Houston.
Tomball, Texas actually... so I have a strong connection with Photography and babies..
When opening up an old cigar box. I found an old envelope inside that contains some 125 year-old photographs that my ancestors took in Elmshorn, Germany. They were professional studio photographers that photographed babies, families, children, and head shots. Sound familiar???? That’s exactly what I do.. the love for Photography has been in my family for generations. Each generation taught photography to the next and here l am.

Motherhood means being behind the camera and you’re always the one taking the pictures... if you’re anything like me, pictures of me with my children didn’t happen very much. There are so many moments I missed and wonderful opportunities to join in the pictures, but I was the one taking the pictures.
Photographing mothers with their children is something I think is so valuable. This is your invitation to make it happen.

Hey, wait a minute... she photographs more than just newborn babies? Oh yes, she does!!! it’s hot in Houston, so I can see why we are not in the mood for family pictures... but it’s cool in the studio. Let’s do this. I have several mini session events planned for the fall and Christmas Photography season. But... You don’t need a mini session to schedule with me. We can get together anytime for a family sessions. I get so excited to catch a newborn smiling during their photography session with me.
This happy little girl smiled more than once... She was so comfy and warm ... having so many good dreams and just kept those smiles rolling. If my clients don’t print this picture out and hang it on their wall, I might just have to do it for them! I mean… how stinking cute is that smile?!?! Capturing a newborn smiling, always reminds me of catching a butterfly... sometimes it happens so quickly and then it fades away.

Most of the time newborn babies either have little or almost no eyelashes at the age of their newborn session. This baby girl has some super long eyelashes, especially for being a preemie. I’m jealous are you jealous? # preemie
