A morning at Logee's Greenhouse in Danielson, CT. with my daughter and son in law for Mother's Day. If you love to photograph flowers, the tropical beauties at Logees's make excellent subjects. Logee's receives a visit from Martha Stewart every year in March. Logee's has been family grown since 1892. They are known internationally. Well worth the drive out to eastern Connecrticut.

Some more fun with my new macro lens. These pics were mostly taken less than 10 inches away from the subject, and I also had the 1.4 teleconverter attached. I am really psyched about the detail. Next I will be exploring taking multiple shots of the same subject with different areas focused on, then combining them to get more in focus rather than just a portion of the image.
So image 1 is Cheetos. Image 2 is orange soda with ice and image three is a p***y willow.

Got a new lens today, the Sony FE 70-200mm f/4 Macro G OSS II Full-Frame Compact Telephoto Zoom Lens. Took a few test shots with my 1.4 teleconverter attached. Pretty happy with the results. It has been awhile since I got a new lens. Looking forward to using that macro function.

A few goldfinches, female I think, trying to get the last bit of nyger seed. Been one of the busier bird feeders.

Just a few of a house sparrow couple. I guess they are doing reconnaissance to see if our yard is favorable for moving in. The first ones I have seen for 2026.

Downy Woodpecker. No problem seeing these guys this winter. They are always at the suet. Taken today, Mar. 3 with more snow falling. I know I am ready for spring. Lets hope that this weeks warmer weather will actually last this time.

White Breasted Nuthatch - Love these little birds but they are so spastic they barely stay still long enough to get a shot off. At least this one cooperated. Taken today, Mar. 3.

Been a long time since I shared any photos. We just experienced Winter Storm Fern (Jan. 25-26, 2026.) It was a nice snowfall. We got about 12 inches here by the marsh, but added to what was already on the ground, we got about 18" of snow to look at. Temps were not terrible, about 2 to 23 degrees all told. So I took my camera and shot my favorite subject, birds, through a window. Here are todays offerings. The cardinals came out really good, and that pesky chickadee was not cooperating until I just about gave up, then he just sat on a branch right next to the window and let me take his portrait. Several actually. They were very hungry today, but I guess if you have to experience 12 inches of snow falling on you, with wind and cold, it makes you a little hungry.

Newport R.I. Scrapbook - Hurricane Erin remnants Aug. 22, 2025 Started my day in Newport, R.I. at Fort Adams State Park. This is where the America's Cup starts, I think. The park has lots of stuff to look at, more than I realized. I just stayed by the boats. There is a nice bay walk, and there is a lookout at the very tip of the park, and I noticed on my way out there looked like a munitions area. Always see things after the fact, just to encourage me to revisit.

Newport, R.I. Scrapbook - Remnants of Hurricane Erin Aug. 22, 2025 - What can I say. It was totally awesome. Just watching the action of the waves was truly energizing. I stopped at several places. Fort Adams, Ocean Ave. locations like Castle Hill, Brenton Point State Park, Gooseneck Salt Marsh and Ledge Rd. Then I headed to Point Judith, where I got the boogie boarder. So I left at 6:22 a.m. and got home at 4:22 p.m.It has been a long time since I took a trip like this, alone. Loved every minute.
