Toledo Fire and Rescue Dept. responded to a residential structure fire in the 2700 block of Parkwood Avenue in the early morning hours of May 31, 2026. Firefighters arrived on scene and found heavy fire coming from the structure. They initially made an aggressive interior attack, but were forced to evacuate due to heavy fire conditions and poor pressure from the two closest hydrants. The initial search of the house was clear of any occupants. Firefighters set up a defensive attack utilizing hand lines and an elevated master stream from Truck 17. Firefighters operated on scene for nearly 6 hours. The house was a total loss, and had to be demolished due to structural instability. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
