Providence Township Fire Department, along with mutual aid from Whitehouse, 180th Air National Guard, Liberty Center, Swanton, Waterville, and Grand Rapids Fire Departments, responded to a structure fire on Ludwig Road on September 8, 2026.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find an outbuilding well involved with fire. The structure was located a considerable distance from the roadway, requiring crews to lay a supply line down the driveway to reach the scene and pump water to the attack engine.

With no nearby fire hydrants available, a tender task force was requested to shuttle water to the scene. One civilian was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Toledo Fire and Rescue Department was dispatched to a structure fire just after 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2026. Crews arrived to find heavy fire and smoke coming from St. Agnes Church.

Due to the extent of the fire and concerns about the potential for structural collapse, command ordered firefighters to conduct a defensive operation. Additional engines and a truck companies were requested to assist.

Firefighters used elevated master streams, deck guns, and handlines to bring the fire under control. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

TFRD responded to a residential structure fire on Whiting Ave near Airport Hwy just after 4 AM on September 2, 2026. Fire crews arrived to find fire coming from the roof of the structure. They in initially attempted to make an interior attack and search the structure, but they were forced to back out due to deteriorating conditions and concerns that the building was becoming unstable. They fought the fire defensively from the exterior.

The City of Toledo buildings department responded to safely demolished the structure. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Toledo Fire and Rescue Department responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Airport Highway and Bronx Drive on Sunday, August 30, 2026.

Initial reports indicated that one of the vehicles had overturned, and bystanders later reported that a patient was trapped inside. The incident was upgraded to an extraction assignment.

Engine 16 arrived on scene and confirmed that no one was pinned in the vehicles. Multiple patients required treatment and transport to local hospitals. Three patients were transported to area hospitals, including one who was a major trauma alert.

TFRD responded to a residential structure fire in the 2500 block of Ayers Ave. just after 3am on August 24, 2026. Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire from the front of the house, and initiated an aggressive attack. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Toledo Fire & Rescue responded to a residential structure fire Monday, Aug. 24, in the 900 block of Norwood Avenue.

Engine 16 arrived first and reported heavy fire coming from the Delta side of the structure. As crews worked to extinguish the main body of fire on the first floor, they discovered the fire had burned up the walls and extended to the second floor.

The primary search was negative for trapped occupants. Firefighters spent significant time opening walls to check for extension and extinguishing remaining hotspots.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Neighbors reported the home was undergoing remodeling and no one was currently living in the homeļæ¼.
