My second shooter took some behind the scenes videos today, and I keep coming back to them.
I often think about how incredibly lucky I am to do what I do.
People invite me into some of the most important days of their lives. They trust me with moments they can never get back. They let me into their love stories, their families, their traditions, and all the little details they’ve spent months (sometimes years) dreaming about. And if you know me, you know I’m an absolute sucker for a good love story.
But it’s more than that, too.
It’s walking into a wedding and hearing another vendor say they’re excited to see me because they know we’ll work well together. It’s the friendships I’ve made with people in this industry. It’s knowing that I’ve built a reputation for being someone people can count on, especially on days when everything doesn’t go exactly as planned. I don’t take any of that lightly.
Every wedding is different. Every couple has a story. Every little detail has meaning to someone. And somehow, I get to be the person who helps preserve it all.
It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle of running a business, the editing, the emails, the long days, and everything in between. But after every wedding, event, and session, I try to take a moment and reflect on what it’s all about.
The people. The stories. The trust. The memories.
I really, really love what I do. And I hope I never lose sight of how special it is that I get to do it.
