Raise a glass! It's official: I'm on to my next adventure.
Thank you to all of my clients-turned-friends that have supported my work these past 25 years or so! However, when you're an event photographer and there are no longer any events to photograph, you gotta figure when to call it quits. Well, not necessarily "quits" but Merrill Photography is officially closed. So ... what should I do next? I may go back to school and study to become an astrophysicist, but I can barely spell it. Maybe I should open a day care? But then I'd have to deal with small children. I could become a crab shaker? But it takes me 30 minutes to crack one crab and I don't see that skill improving any time soon. So what's it going to be?

Hey! Sometimes I get requests for pet portraits. [Imagine that?] Did you happen to notice an adoptable pet photo in the newspaper and want to have a professional portrait of YOUR pet? I just wanted to let you know that I do pet portraits in exchange for a donation to PAWS of Grays Harbor.
You bring your pet to my studio. I take the pictures. You donate to PAWS. You get pictures. Everyone wins.
ALSO: I make provisions for seniors and home-bound folks. Just sayin'.

My book made the Tokeland / North Cove Times bestsellers list! If you want a copy let me know. I've got new inventory! If you're on the fence about buying a book, consider these 2 things: Just this week someone commented, "... as I slowly savoured each photo and each page of your book: awe, curiosity, amazement, sadness, surprise, joy, equanimity...and laugh out loud delight!
