Today was the member show opening and I almost didn’t go…not because I didn’t want to but because my partner had to work and I didn’t have childcare.

However, with a little nudge from a wonderful art buddy Louise, I ended up going for 22 minutes (yes, 22!) so that he could get to work. I’m so glad I did!! I got to meet some dear art friends whom I’ve only known online, hug my amazing art teacher and mentor , and meet some new fabulous people.

What’s more, I also heard some really kind words about the impact of my watercolor piece from a few people and it was really validating and appreciated. One of those people is the grandmother of a young boy who was also a preemie…and as it turns out unbeknownst to me, that boy is the classmate of my NICU graduate son whom the works are inspired by.

I’m hoping eventually I’ll find a place to show my entire NICU series, but for now, this experience of showing in member shows has been very uplifting and I’m grateful for the experience.

I haven’t posted in awhile but these photos seemed like a good reason to shake the dust off! What a privilege to be entrusted with capturing these gorgeous girls (pony included!) this autumn. Every photo captured my heart and I hope they bring the family much joy.

Busy running around after my own little one for the past several months, I haven't been doing such a great job keeping up with social media, but I was glad to have time tonight. This adorable boy from a late summer shoot had expression for days. (You'll be seeing photos of this adorable gentleman's awesome cousins soon, too!)

I had such a lovely time meeting baby Zoe. I don't often "sneak peek" because there is no clear way to choose one photo among the group, but decided to showcase this particular image because of the love it conveys. Welcome to the world, Zoe!
