My Story

Hi! I’m Annie and I am a photographer, artist and educator. I love history, the earth, podcasts, reading, camping, and a hot cup of tea. I believe in relationships and in helping others. I believe in art and the power and healing it can bring to makers and viewers. I believe in legacy and believe that we each have one to share.

PHOTOGRAPHY: All of my portrait and wedding sessions are focused on creating joyful, relaxed and tender family moments that become memories. I use my blog to share sessions with a strong story aspect because I love to be reminded that underneath everything, we really have a lot that can bring us together.

WHO I SERVE: I focus on Wedding Sessions, Engagement Sessions, and Graduation Portrait Sessions but also enjoy and offer Family Sessions, Children’s Sessions, and Newborn Sessions. I love to work with all kinds of people! ART EDUCATION: I use my art education opportunities to provide unique opportunities of art play, artmaking, artist studies, and personal skill development for my students. In this age of one-night painting classes, I focus differently to work on drawing skills to boost confidence while also encouraging my students to use play strategies and independent choice to make meaningful art with important messages.

I taught art in a public junior high for seven years before leaving to start my own business in 2014. During my tenure as an art teacher, I worked with a wide range of ages and abilities through classes, clubs, and art camps and was able to quickly get to know children, make them feel comfortable and confident and now I’m able to carry that into my work as a photographer today by giving gentle direction to children and meeting many needs at once. These skills extend smoothly into life as a portrait photographer.
