Spent a wild fun time at the Tinley Park Public Library earlier today with my mom, daughter and one of my daughter’s best friends. There was a llama 🦙 that looked like a giraffe 🦒! And I learned how much alike animals are. They all just want a gentle touch and a good belly rub. Also, our grass must be good because they all loved snacking on the green blades.

Wish we had sampled the food trucks but there’s always next time:

Tonight there is an outdoor 🎸Borikuerdas 🇵🇷Concert which is sure to be fantastico. Looking forward to seeing the photos of what we missed. Never enough time in the day.

🥹 This summer our girl Eileah is learning how easy it is to get to her favorite places around town by bike 🚲 instead by car. The trip to the library is especially exciting when a train 🚂 passes by. Seeing her independence and confidence in herself grow is making this summer super memorable. Thank you Metra for spotlighting this special memory from the beginning of this summer.

Nothing warms our hearts more than seeing our young railfans, especially when they demonstrate proper rail safety. Thank you to for sharing these amazing photos of our little railfan.

It's a great day to take a spin, jump, or climb at the brand new 4,200 square foot Outdoor Odyssey at KidsWork Children's Museum in New Lenox. The outdoor exhibit opened last month on May 17, 2025 and is ADA Accessible, with a Picnic Area that has a Shade Sail above for sun protection.

You can purchase your admission in advance on the KidsWork site at this link: kidswork.org/buytickets.

If you’ve ever felt a yen to help in some way improve how LGBTQ+ people are treated in society, there are quite a few presentations and events happening nearby that educate people on how to be an ally. And PFLAG is the organization leading the charge in our part of the country.

The Chicago Southland is home to three chapters, in Homewood-Flossmoor, Lockport, and Tinley Park. Events hosted by all three are happening throughout Pride Month. Check out this infographic made by the PFLAG Tinley Park chapter.
