“Being a Mother is a super power”

Yes. Yes in fact it is.

I shared yesterday about how becoming a Mother has shifted my perspective with time: there’s so much time while simultaneously not having enough.

At first, I was speaking the amount of time in a day to “get things done” and the more I sat with it, the more I felt in my heart, it’s true for how quickly and simultaneously slowly, these moments pass with our littles.

And I think that’s our super power as Mothers is how we can hold a full spectrum in any given moment - wonder and chaos, happiness and sadness, grief and gratitude, excitement and fear, pride and concern, the list goes on.

While we can’t stop time and we can’t create more of it, we can pause. We can breathe with it. We can take it all in. We can hold it tightly. We can play in it, around it and with it. These moments will pass, but they will always be etched in the fabric of our being.

And that is yet, another super power 🤍

You don’t need another brand shoot.

With love, you need to learn how to utilize the images you already have and stop picking yourself apart long enough to actually let yourself be seen.

The Self Portrait Series is a space to practice both.

We begin in September.
Comment or DM “SELF” to join us.

Maybe you don’t hate having your photo taken.

Maybe you hate being perceived.

Because the second the camera is on you, it can be so easy to leave your body and start watching yourself from the outside.

How do I look?
Is my body doing something weird?
Do I look confident?
Am I taking up too much space?

What if instead, the camera became a way to come back to yourself?

That’s what we’ll explore inside The Self Portrait Series.

Not posing.
Not perfection.
Not creating the “right” image.

But learning to notice yourself, feel yourself, and become more comfortable being seen by you.

We begin September 13 and spend four months exploring self portraiture, embodiment, reflection, and what it means to truly see yourself.

If this is speaking to you, comment SELF or send me a DM and I’ll send you the details.

This is the kind of business I want to create for.

Elayne’s work at La Cade De Luz is so much more than a facial.

She is a transformational energy alchemist, working far deeper than the skin.

And that depth is felt in everything she does.

From the moment you inquire.
To sitting on the sofa and talking before your treatment.
To the way you’re held in the treatment room.
To the feeling you carry with you when you leave.

Nothing feels rushed.

Nothing feels like an afterthought.

Every piece has been considered.

And I think that’s what I’m becoming more and more drawn to in the businesses I work with.

The ones that take their time.

The ones that care about the experience as much as the offering.

The ones where you can feel the person behind the business in every detail.

Because when you build something from your own energy, your values, your perspective, it doesn’t just live in what you sell.

It’s felt.

That’s what I wanted to document: how it feels to be in her world.

And that, to me, is the difference between creating content and creating something that actually reflects a business.

I want to photograph the businesses that make you feel something.

The ones that aren’t trying to be everything to everyone.

The ones that know who they are.

And let that be felt.

I think I lost the plot for a little bit.

I got so caught up in creating what I thought people wanted to see that I forgot what it felt like to create simply because I wanted to.

The Self Portrait Series is my way of coming back to that.

And maybe yours, too.

A space to stop performing, pick up your camera, and create from a place of self-expression.

We are constantly becoming.
