For better cell reception, we camped 30 minutes outside of the park, at a (hopefully) inactive helipad. 🚁

But it took an additional half hour or more from the entrance to get to the park’s main attractions.

I would work til mid-afternoon, then we would immediately hop in the truck to go explore a new area. We would get home late every night, after long days of trying to fit it all in.

May 19, 2022. We stayed a few nights with my great uncle who lives in walking distance from this view. 🤩

He also happens to be neighbors with and my husband calmly told him “good morning.” NBD!!

My first time in the Pacific Ocean! On the US-side, that is..

I lived on the Gold Coast in Australia for 4 months and swam plenty on that side of the Pacific. 🤙🏼

May 18, 2022. A little over a year ago: our first time in LA 🕶

After dragging the camper around the city for a while, scoping out numerous potential camp spots (found on iOverlander), we eventually caved and booked a site at a state park campground. Our fifth and final paid campsite of this trip, to date!

City street or beachfront parking was all a bit too sketch for us 👀

This was an epic place to catch the lunar eclipse!

We didn’t spend long in Joshua Tree though, due to heat. It was well over 100 degrees in the day and only got down to the upper 80s at night. Anyone who’s spent any period of time in a camper knows it’s much worse to camp in the heat than in the cold. 🙅🏼‍♀️

So we only stayed one night, then moved on towards the coast and cooler temps.

May 11, 2022. We made another stop in Sedona, before leaving Arizona and heading west.

Although we were just there in February 2022, when your aunt and uncle have room at their timeshare and invite you to stay, you do not pass up that opportunity. 🙌🏼😍

May 7, 2022. Let me tell you about our hike in the Grand Canyon.. 💀

• we took South Kaibab trail down to the Colorado River, then back up Bright Angel trail
• ~17 miles
• 12 hours
• 4800 ft elevation gain on the way back up
• over 100 degrees at the bottom
• our Apple watches both ran out of battery halfway, so we’re now in the market for watches that can handle our activity level
• hands down the hardest thing I have ever done (yes, including running a marathon)
• incredible views that [almost] made it worth it

I had never cried at the end of a hike before.. until yesterday. Of pain, of exhaustion, & of relief that we made it. I am proud to say we did it, but I won’t be rushing out to do it again! You win, canyon, you win.

Our crash course day at Bryce Canyon included:

🔸 a popular hike: Navajo Loop / Queen’s Garden
🔸 the 18-mile scenic drive to Rainbow point
🔸 another shorter (snowy) hike: Bristlecone Loop
🔸 a few scenic pit stops on our drive back: Inspiration Point overlook, and Red Canyon

The views & formations are unlike anything we’ve seen before. 🤩
