The golden hue of tomorrow:

The brink of sunset bleeds to gold,
A pearlescent wash of pink and plum.
The gorgeous stories skyward told
Remind her of what's yet to come.
Even as the shadows grow,
And daylight yields its final spark,
There is a promise in the glow
That waits beyond the quiet dark.
Tomorrow brings another fight,
Another battle to be won,
An attitude to tame aright
Beneath a fresh and rising sun.
But oh, the summer days are long,
And patience wears a little thin.
The heavy rhythm of the song
That single-mother, a teacher spin.
No school bells ring, no rosters clear,
The chaotic hum is here to stay—
It’s driving me insane, my dear,
Just trying to survive the day.
Yet still, the colors paint the crest,
A beautiful, chaotic view.
Tonight, she’ll find a moment's rest;
Tomorrow, she will rise anew.
