Hey guys! Haven’t done one of these in a while but I wanted to re-introduce myself. Feel free to keep reading and get to know your favorite grassroots photographer a little better!
My name is Jake, and that’s my Siberian Husky, Chevy. He’s not totally relevant to this page but figured I’d throw him in there, who doesn’t love a handsome pup?
Anyways, about me; I’m 26 and I’ve been doing photography for roughly 10 years - 3 years professionally.
I grew up around cars in and out of different scenes, drag racing, circuit racing, and now drifting. By a long shot drifting has been one of the nicest and most welcoming communities and I couldn’t be happier to shoot for local teams and drivers.
For the last 10 years I’ve built a career around working on engines. I went to high school for automotive trade, immediately graduated and joined the CT Air National Guard where I worked on C-130 aircraft, jet engines and propulsion systems. I deployed with the aircraft and served 7 years before separating. Shortly after that I continued more certifications in automotive and eventually worked my way into Pratt & Witney - that adventure awaits in my near future.
For the less professional stuff; I enjoy doing a lot more than just taking photos and long walks on the beach. I enjoy mountain biking, I also have a 1976 Buick skylark with a 5.3 LS running and driving project, and I’ve been learning acoustic guitar on my own the last couple years.
I like to think I’m a jack-of-all trades but in all reality I just have ADHD.
With all that being said, I can’t wait to see what the future holds! This past year, even more specifically in the last 4-5 months has been a huge learning curve and without the help of so many I wouldn’t be half the photographer I am today.
