“Daddy, dance with me
I want you to see the woman I’ve become
Daddy, don’t let go
I want you to know I’ll always need your love
Today I became his wife
But I’ll be your baby girl for life”

💚 AUGUST CALENDAR FEATURE 💚

We may already be a few days into August, but there is still plenty to recognize and share this month.

August 30th is National Grief Awareness Day. Grief looks different for everyone, and there is no correct timeline or single way to work through it. Some days may feel manageable, while others can bring emotions back without warning. Be patient with yourself and with those around you. Sometimes simply listening, checking in, or reminding someone they are not alone can mean more than we realize.

This month, we are excited to feature the winner of our 2026 First Responders Choice Award, this beautiful 1954 Packard Henney Jr Ambulance.

This is such a fantastic and unique vehicle, and it is no surprise that our first responders selected it for their choice award at the 2026 show.

A special thank you to our August calendar sponsor, Author Donna J Katko, Write On, for supporting Breaking The Stigma and our mission to raise awareness for mental health and su***de prevention.

Our Trumbull Meat Locker raffle is also still going strong. Tickets are $10 each for your chance to win a $500 gift certificate, with the drawing planned for the week of August 17th. Be sure to reach out to one of our board members or supporters who still have tickets available.

We are also beginning to look ahead to our 2027 calendars. They are usually ready for purchase by November, so be sure to keep an eye on our page and grab one when they become available.

Thank you for continuing to support our mission, our events, and the people in our community who may be quietly working through difficult days.

Remember to check in on your people, be kind to yourself, and keep helping us break the stigma 💚

💚 JUNE 2026 CALENDAR FEATURE 💚

June is a very important month for us. Not only is it the month of our 4th Annual Breaking The Stigma Charity Car Show, but it is also Men's Mental Health Awareness Month and PTSD Awareness Month.

This month serves as a reminder that mental health challenges can affect anyone. Many people struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, or other mental health concerns may not show obvious signs. Sometimes the people carrying the heaviest burdens are the ones who appear to be doing just fine. That is why checking in on one another, listening without judgment, and being willing to have difficult conversations matters.

To all the men reading this, it's okay to not be okay. Seeking help when you need it is not a sign of weakness. It is a sign of strength. Whether you reach out to a friend, family member, counselor, therapist, or support group, you do not have to face life's challenges alone.

If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available. Call or text 988, or locally in Lake County call the Crisis Hotline at 440-953-8255.

This month we are proud to feature the recipient of our 2025 Remembrance Award, this beautiful 1965 Corvette Stingray.

The Remembrance Award holds a special place in our hearts. During our very first car show, our family walked the grounds and selected the vehicle we believed would have been our son Corey's favorite vehicle at the event. Since then, we have invited the family of each year's honoree to continue that tradition and select the vehicle they feel best represents their loved one's passion and spirit. It is always an emotional and meaningful moment, and the recipients are consistently honored to receive it.

A special thank you to our June calendar sponsor, Clorice Vines Group at McDowell Real Estate, for supporting our mission and helping us continue these important conversations.

Join us on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at the Lake County Fairgrounds. Gates open at 10:00 AM.

Presented by All Star Awards & Apparel
In memory of Jo Hrisko
Proceeds benefiting NAMI Lake County, OH

Together we can continue breaking the stigma surrounding mental health, encouraging people to seek help when they need it, and reminding everyone that they matter and deserve tomorrow.

COINCIDENCE ? ITS WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY, IT'S ALSO WORLD LAUGHTER DAY 💚

From the deep belly laugh from a child, to the faint giggle in the back of a middle school health class, the best medicine for our mental health is always laughter!

If you know me personally you know that I can pretty much walk through any fire with " If you laugh, you wont cry" There is nothing more important in my world then allll the humor it takes to get through it.

Enjoy some laughs I have captured over the years, and try to rememeber to photograph some yourself to look back on when the road gets hard and windy, and you forget how freeing it is to LAUGH OUT LOUD!
