If you had asked me a few years ago what my favorite part of a wedding is, I probably would have told you the first look. But over the years that has slowly changed. I want you to meet Alice & Arnetta. Arnetta showed up not only to celebrate her granddaughter's wedding, but to be a part of it. She was a bridesmaid, and a beautiful one at that. I spent some time talking with her & it only took a few minutes in to understand how proud she was of Jocelyn and her choice in Wyant.
Then we have Alice. This strong woman lost her husband of 61 one years the night before her grandson's wedding. Despite that, she was still there dancing with Wyant and celebrating beside him just as her husband Mike would have been. These two were so special to me. Most think a wedding is just a union between two, but in truth it's a union between families. These two women birthed a generation and got to watch it continue onto the next. So if you asked me today after twelve years of documenting weddings what my favorite part is I would tell you not the first look, not the venue, not even the cake, but the people. Because women like Arnetta and Alice are what make wedding days so darn special. 🤍

When MaKenna told me she was going with brown as her wedding color I was so excited to see how everything looked together. Safe to say I loved it! Her details were stunning. 🤎 Beautiful florals done by Whispering Willow Florals!

Today was one of the most beautiful days for a wedding. The weather was perfect straight up until our sunset photos when a huge cloud appeared and blocked our sun. MaKenna and Caden took a portion of their photo time to go fishing and during that time the sun came back out in the most beautiful way. Such a perfect ending to such an amazing wedding. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Cannon!

Yesterday Nicole and Justin came out for their engagement photos. We had already rescheduled once and I was a little nervous we'd have to reschedule again, but the rain held off and the moody sky made for such beautiful photos. These two were a blast to hang out with and I already can't wait to hang with them again in November at their wedding!

More photos of the Herb family. When Katie asked if we could run over to her mom's house to get pictures in her wildflower patch, you know I was game. I'm so glad we snuck over there as the sun set because it made for some of the most beautiful photos.

These twins win the record for traveling the farthest to shoot with me. They came all the way from Austria! It was such a fun night hanging out with these two boys and their mama. (& grandma!) One of them even taught me how to say blue in German. I'm pretty sure Oliver and Lincoln are gonna be best friends for a long time and I love that for them. 🤍
