I will no longer be posting identifiable images of children or minors on my social media.

The 7 Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that possessing AI-generated CSAM depicting ‘fictional’ children can be constitutionally protected. AI photos train off of public images, since the photos I post here are available to the public I will be lessening exposure as much as I can.

I cannot control what happens to an image once it is on the public internet and as a photographer and a morally responsible person, I have a responsibility to think beyond the moment I hit “post.” Whether or not every person agrees with this decision or the concerns surrounding AI, I don’t believe I need to wait until something becomes a personal problem before taking precautions.

This decision does not mean I will stop photographing families, babies, children, seniors, or any of the other sessions I’ve always offered. It will not affect your session, the images you receive, or the way I photograph your family. It simply means that once your gallery is delivered, I will be much more intentional about what image I choose to share publicly. I am incredibly proud of my work, and I will continue to create those photographs with the same care, creativity, and love. You will just see less of them here. Some things are more important than likes, reach, or having something new to post.

Protecting the people in front of my camera is one of them.
