👀 Here’s what I’ve been up to lately!

Hey, how are ya?!

I just wanted to pop in and say hi! I know it’s been a while. 😅

Life has been good around here. We’ve had some changes that have made me step back from my socials because I just haven’t had the time or mental bandwidth to consistently show up.

👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 I’m still figuring out how to do life with 2 kiddos. It’s getting a little easier every day. My sister also had her first baby so we’ve been loving on my niece.

🍞 I have officially become a sourdough girl. I love baking bread and finding new discard recipes to try. Bagels, English muffins, and a variety of cookies will be the things I try next.

👯‍♀️ Me and my girl Micah () have done headshots for her biz! If you didn’t know I assist her on weddings for her planning business. I love seeing other sides of weddings and I’m one of her main assistants now. took the photos and they are gorgeous!

🎶 I became the worship director at my church this past August. I love leading my team and using music to glorify my Creator. My responsibilities with the team and other areas of the church have ramped up so I’ve been focused on that.

🤵‍♂️ My husband and I did a session with my friend when she came to visit Austin and the photos are amazing! (I’ll share more of them soon.) We also celebrated Daniel’s birthday in February.

📸 I’ve had the privilege of shooting some maternity and in home newborn sessions. I love seeing all the new babies. 😍 Hoping to do more of those sessions this year.

🥳 So blessed to see another year.

My husband asked me this morning if I felt any different and I told him that I honestly feel the same. I think I’m finally getting closer to the age that I’ve always felt like I am. 😅

✨Welcome 27! You’re going to be full of smiles, laughs, good memories, and probably some tears. But praying that you’ll be the best year yet.

MARRIED COUPLES, THIS ONE’S FOR YOU!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My husband and I have been married for almost 5 years and marriage is a gift from God, but it’s not always easy.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But here’s the deal…your marriage can be beautiful and joyful even through the ups and downs.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So here are a few things I’ve learned in the past couple years to encourage all those married couples out there…
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👉🏽Prioritize each other. Besides your relationship with God, your spouse should be the most important thing in your life. Putting effort into that relationship and being 100% committed to them is vital. That means your relationship is above any relationship with parents, friends, or anyone else.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👉🏽Love them well. Everyone receives love differently, and that can change in various seasons of life. Find ways to show them love that will mean something to them.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👉🏽Find like-minded couple friends (especially ones that are farther in marriage then you). Everyone needs friends that are going through similar seasons of life or that have been in your position before. Find married couples to be friends with that have your values and can give you helpful advice when needed.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

SICK AND TIRED OF SEEING ALL OF YOUR MONEY DISAPPEAR AS YOU PLAN YOUR WEDDING?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here are some ways to save 💲💲 on your wedding.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1️⃣ Repurpose florals 👉🏼 You can reuse floral arrangements from your ceremony space in your reception area. Once your ceremony is over, your wedding planner or a family member can move flowers into the reception space while guests are at cocktail hour.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2️⃣ Don’t have your wedding on a Saturday 👉🏼 Because Saturdays are usually the day couples want for their wedding, it’s also the most expensive day for venues. If you want to stick to a weekend go for a Friday or Sunday wedding. If you want to save even more, ask about weekday pricing.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3️⃣ Don’t use top-shelf alcohol for your bar 👉🏼 If you are deciding to have an open bar for your wedding, you don’t need to buy the most expensive alcohol. Most guests will not know the difference between $20 and $100 tequila.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4️⃣ Use a credit card that gives you cash back to pay for things 👉🏼 This is not something I would recommend to all couples (I personally don’t trust myself with a credit card lol), but this can be a great way to get back some of the money you are spending.

👉🏽But if you don’t slow down and set aside time for each other, this season can zoom by.

I know wedding planning can be all kinds of crazy, but don't forget about each other during this season.

✨Set aside one night every week to slow down, put down the phones and planning, and just be with each other.
