Recently a court case decided that it would protect CSAM created entirely by AI as free speech. My problem with this is that AI pulls from real images. This is a topic I have been thinking about for a long time, but this court decision made it simple for me to reach a decision on what to do. Do I think it’s likely that any of my images would be used in such a foul way? No. Do I want to allow any chance? No. If I don’t feel comfortable posting my own children out of fear of this small chance, I also don’t feel comfortable posting your children. This is a public account and searchable by anyone in the world. Again, I don’t think this is likely to be a problem, but I don’t see the benefit in allowing it to be a problem. It absolutely breaks my heart to dim the joy that we get to share in this space, but my mother-bear instincts win this time.
Your galleries will appear just the same - all galleries have always been and will continue to be delivered in a password protected digital gallery. They will be full of the sweet smiles and the timeless memories that we all cherish.
