Since 1972 Arizona's Source for Everything Photographic

Tempe Camera, now celebrating over 43 years of business, would like to thank you, our friends and patrons, for your continued support throughout these many years of growth. Our business philosophy is a simple one: Provide our customers with good service at reasonable prices. While Tempe Camera has grown to be the largest photographic shop in Arizona, we remain a community-oriented enterprise and are proud that many of our customers become our friends. We are committed to serving the photographic community by providing aspiring and professional shooters with a reliable resource for their imaging needs. As founder and owner of Tempe Camera, Joe Wojcich has received many awards. His most notable recognitions include the 1994 Small Business Person of the year award for the state of Arizona by the U.S. Small Business Administration and several Best of Phoenix Photography Store awards by New Times. He considers these honors a result of a hard working staff and satisfied customers. Tempe Camera is the state's only one-stop imaging store. Besides offering expert advice, our Sales Department offers both new and used equipment including cameras, lenses, lighting, supplies and darkroom gear. Trade-ins are welcomed towards new purchases. Our Rental Center offers a full range of lenses, digital and film cameras and accessories, computer projectors for Power Point presentations and lighting and grip equipment for professionals shooting in studios or on location. The Repair Department can service what we sell, usually in-house; our technicians have a combined 100 years of experience and are comfortable with the latest advances. The TCR Photo Imaging Center provides quality photo finishing from your digital or traditional film cameras. Prints up to 4ft x10ft can be printed on high quality archival photographic paper, watercolor media, fine art canvas, super high gloss or back-lit display materials, along with matting, mounting and framing, and albums. We have dip and dunk E-6 film processing for 35mm to large format transparency film. Online options include easy to use ROES image and order management, easy sending of files though our website, FTP services and personalized websites where you can post images to either view or sell to your own customers. The Tempe Camera main building is located at 606 W. University Drive, Tempe, Arizona 85281 where you'll find our Sales, Repair, and Rental departments as well as administrative office and is open Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 5pm. Our lab, the Tempe Camera Photo Imaging Center, is located right next door at 530 W. University Dr., Tempe, Arizona 85281 and is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm. The lab is closed on weekends. Look for the new products and specials we have every month throughout our shop and online. If you don't see what you are looking for, we'll do our best to provide it for you.

Tested doesn’t always mean working. All of our cameras are not only tested but get a CLA service from our film tech, Chris, (who is under direct supervision of Pawstomer Service Manger, Penny 🐾) so you know they are ready to go before hitting the shelves. And in the event we miss something, know you’re covered with a warranty.

Looking for a deal? Check our lobby for cameras that cannot be serviced, but are tested and functional.

Today is the most bittersweet day as we say “see you soon” to one of our Tempe Camera staples, Katie. For five years, Katie has been at our photo lab. Starting at the front counter and eventually becoming our expert inkjet technician. She has the most wonderful spirit, warm personality, and care and compassion for her team.

Katie, as you head off to Washington, we know that you will do AMAZING on your new adventure. Think of us often whenever you’re missing the sunshine or whenever you shoot a roll of film.

We all love you and will miss you immensely.

When you need it done carefully, correctly, and with the most knowledge, bring it somewhere with decades of expertise so that you can ensure it's done the right way. Shoebox full of old negatives? Inherited a load of film and want to see what all is on it? That's where we come in!

This image is from a client who brought us a whole box full of her grandfather's old film. Even though it dates back to the 40's, it was able to be scanned and have some new life brought back to it, giving us a glimpse into a time capsule. This may have been the coolest order we've had come through in a long time!

Sometimes these jobs take a little extra TLC. For this lot, we had to slowly backwind all of the rolls and let them sit for a few days to take some of the curliness out of the film before scanning it. Even then, the rolls must be handled with great care so if any of it has become brittle, it's preserved as much as is possible.

With the holdiay season on the way, give the gift of nostalgia! Inquire today about scanning pricing online or by phone at (480) 966-6954.

“I have been going to Tempe Camera for over a decade and have consistently felt welcomed and cared for as a visual storyteller. If challenges have come up, the team has worked to find solutions with technical brilliance, empathy, and understanding. Many of the projects I’ve been a part of would not have been possible without the support from the amazing people at Tempe Camera and their great selection of image making tools.”
