It's the last week of school around here before Christmas break, which means the last few days of some semblance of normalcy before the craziness of the holidays ensues, am I right?!

It's an amazing and wonderful time of year, but it can also be wrought with chaos, confusion, stress, heartache, and pressure. Especially for us moms trying to keep ALL THE THINGS running smoothly and provide an awesome holiday experience for our families. Sometimes the stress and pressure can be overwhelming and we can feel crushed under the weight of it all.

Just remember, YOU ARE ENOUGH, mama. YOU are what makes the world go around - well, your family's world to say the least. YOU are what they need, not the laundry list of gifts they gave Santa, not the ONE thing your partner asked for that's backordered forever (because of course you forgot to order it in time), not even the perfect meal. At the end of the day, a healthy (both mentally and physically) woman to hold them, cuddle them, play with them, and support them is the best gift you can give.

Honestly though, this is proof that photos don’t have to be perfectly posed to be amazing. It’s all about showcasing your client’s true personality, and this photog NAILED IT!!

Mom-ing is hard s**t. It’s a day-to-day grind, extremely exhausting both emotionally and physically, and lots of times seemingly thankless. Yet at the end of the day, I think every single one of us would say it’s amazing and that we wouldn’t trade it for the world...another sign that we’re all just crazy 😜 😂❤️

But as cliché as it is, it’s so true that those little hugs, random “I love you”s, and every sweet moment in between makes it all worth it. We are helping to shape who these little people will be come, and while that’s a big responsibility, it’s one that we accept with humility and love. And I’m here to say you’re all doing an amazing job. You are respected, you are appreciated, and you are majorly loved.

So Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful mamas out there, and a special shout out to the ones I’ve been able to capture in the past year. You are all strong, smart, funny, amazing women and I’m thankful to call you clients and friends!

I’m feeling this one today!! Excited, happy, joyful, thankful...GOOD VIBES for sure!

The hustle has been real so far this week and though it’s been exhausting, it’s also been so fulfilling and exciting to see small steps to see my little business grow. Not to mention I get a treat this weekend of filling my love tank visiting with some very special people!! Sometimes we get so caught up in the chaos we forget to find the beauty in it all, and today I’m choosing to focus on the positive.

Ok 2021, here we go.

So many things I didn’t do, didn’t see, didn’t experience in 2020, but there were SO many things I did.

1️⃣ I had more time with my sweet fam than ever before, and it made us stronger. It wasn’t easy, it wasn’t always fun, but we did it.

2️⃣ We made it through the most bizarre school year ever, and with flying colors I might add.

3️⃣ We became an RV family (who would have thought?!), and had some of the best travel experiences yet.

4️⃣ We had the most amazing quarantine bubble with friends that became family more so than ever, and kept us sane.

5️⃣ I was able to grow my photography business after taking over a year off AND moving to a new state (with your help, thank you!).

I know 2020 wasn’t all cupcakes and rainbows, but I definitely have so much to be thankful for, and plenty to look back on fondly despite so much heartache and loneliness. We found new ways to connect, to support, to socialize, and it was definitely a year we will never forget!

BUT, 2021, I’m so ready for you. Bring it on.

Let’s bring on 2021, y’all! Less than 24 hours left in this year, and I think we’re all ready for it, am I right?

While I know that there’s not magical switch that will be flipped at midnight and all of a sudden everything will right in the world again, it’s still the turning of a new page; a fresh start of sorts. And even though I’ve never been a big “ New Year’s Resolution” person, I do always love the change that the new year brings.

The main thing I am focusing on and feeling with the ringing in of 2021 is HOPE. Hope that our world will see a shift in a positive direction. Hope that we can hug our family and friends again without fear. And hope that we can all be more kind, understanding, loving and supportive to each other than ever before.

What are your biggest hopes for 2021??
