P + J became parents last year, and getting to photograph this next season for them was so special. 🤍

We were honestly a little nervous about the weather—crazy wind and rain in the forecast. We even changed locations last minute because it was already pouring where we were supposed to go. But somehow it all worked out perfectly… because how beautiful did these turn out?!

P + J are just so natural together in front of the camera, and it’s such a blessing that they trust me to document the different seasons of their lives. And it’s always a bonus when Gwen gets to come along too 🤍

Hello friends, Im Taylor Atchison! I’m 35 years YOUNG, married to my best friend Alex, and mama to two wonderful little boys — Fisher and Forrest — along with our beloved chocolate lab, Wiley. We had an intimate wedding IN 2020 that felt perfectly us, and looking back, it beautifully reflects the kind of life we’ve built: intentional, close-knit, and full of meaning.

I’m not a perfect person, wife, or anything in between, but motherhood is where I feel God’s purpose for me most clearly. It’s the role that has shaped me, grounded me, and brought me more joy than I ever imagined.

A few things that fill my cup:
✨ Disney movies and theme parks
✨ All things sweet (especially ice cream)
✨ Half-caf coffee
✨ a good spa day
✨ Camping and the outdoors
✨ Dogs — always my favorite
✨ And a deep love for Jesus

Alex and I share a love for Japanese art, culture, and games… yes, we still play pokemon go LOL! In 2025 we even took our oldest to Japan, and it was truly the trip of a lifetime. We still joke — only kind of joking — about moving there someday.

I’ve spent nearly nine years photographing weddings, and around year four I discovered where my creative heart thrives most: in the small, intimate moments. The quiet exchanges, the gentle gestures, the pieces of a wedding day that often go unseen — that’s where I feel most connected as an artist and where I’m able to serve my couples with intention and heart.

I don’t normally photograph big, traditional weddings… but when Madi reached out, I didn’t even have to think about it. I’ve known her since she was in high school, when I coached her in cheer, and her family has always held such a special place in my heart. They’re the kind of people who leave a lasting impact — the kind you never forget.

Fast forward to 2024 when Madi told me she was getting married and wanted me to capture it. She said she couldn’t imagine anyone else behind the camera because she already felt so comfortable with me. And Nathaniel was all in, too. From their engagement session to the wedding day, photographing them felt less like working with clients and more like photographing family.

I’m endlessly grateful for couples who trust me wholeheartedly. Madi may have had a head start in knowing who I am, but it still means the world that she and her (now!) husband chose me to document such an important day. 🤍

At 33 weeks pregnant, I met up with my last couple of the year; I really ended 2025 with a bang! J+M are from Philly and reached out for engagement photos and chose Joshua Tree — which made my little desert-loving heart so happy 🌵✨
Since I know the park and the surrounding areas like the back of my hand, I sent them a bunch of dreamy locations to choose from… all of them feeling like you just stepped onto another planet.

J + M were such a blast and fell right into the flow of things — super natural with every prompt and down for anything I threw their way. They trusted me with everything… the locations, the direction, even where to grab dinner after. My kind of couple!

It seriously means the world getting to help couples not just with photos, but with their whole experience. I can’t wait to be back in Joshua Tree in 2026 with more beautiful couples 🤍

One of the most common questions I get for maternity photos is: “When should we take our maternity photos?”

Google will tell you 30–36 weeks — but I usually recommend 28–34 weeks instead!

Here’s why: around that time, your bump is beautifully round, you still feel comfortable moving around, and we don’t risk baby arriving early or you feeling too uncomfortable toward the end. It’s the perfect sweet spot where you can actually enjoy your session and feel your best.

So if you’re in that window — it’s time to start planning, mama. 🤍

Not the fancy kind—just the kind that lets you breathe, move, and be yourself.

The most photogenic couples aren’t the ones who nail every pose; they’re the ones who can’t help but laugh, tease, or sneak a glance at each other. You don’t have to perform for the camera—you just have to be together.

From getting ready at the dreamy Airbnb to a heartfelt first touch in front of the iconic round doors, K+L’s elopement was a true celebration of love. After their beautiful front yard ceremony, we ventured into Joshua Tree National Park for golden hour photos at Cap Rock and discovered an epic spot for their stunning blue hour shots. The day ended with cake, their intimate first dance, and a delicious meal together. Cheers to a love as timeless as the desert!

It was one of those days where the beauty of the desert matched the beauty of the connection between two people. I feel so incredibly grateful to witness and document love in such a raw, intentional way. These intimate celebrations—where the focus stays on the couple, their story, and what truly matters—are what fill my heart the most. I’m honored every time couples trust me to step into their sacred moments and capture the love they share so honestly🤍
