In the spirit of Cinco De Mayo falling on Taco Tuesday this year and the fact that we are desperately in need of things to look forward to: we are going all out celebrating this year and we made these cute DIY Papel Picado Banners out of printer paper to decorate with. You could use crepe paper, old paper grocery bags, leftover gift wrap- whatever you have on-hand! My daughter is 10 and she stuck with me through creating the whole thing and even made her own banner and my 7 year old son Lennix was in and out of interest but everyone including my two year old loved the gluing and assembling part- so it was a fun, family friendly activity for all! I have the photos and written tutorial up on the blog!

this atrium is right off our kitchen so i thought it would be fun to design the space to work as additional indoor/outdoor seating where we can have cocktails and chat, what do you think of the

I love our yearly visit to the farm for pumpkins, tractor rides, pig races, and this year: Prosecco! Crosley had the temper tantrum of his life when we had to leave, so I think it was a hit ha! 🍂 @ Peltzer Pumpkin Farm

The weather hasn’t fully gotten the memo that it’s Fall yet, but we aren’t letting that stop us from scouring for all their pumpkins and Fall decor!

to my Marley girl: “even though you think I don’t know, I see you stay up every night past your bedtime reading those extra books in bed so you can meet your reading goal at school. Today you met it a month early and at double the level of your entire class and I see you continually push yourself like that to achieve whatever it is you set your mind to... and it inspires me to do the same. I love your passion, your determination and your heart and I hope you carry all that strength into this broken world and show other girls that they can be strong too. I see you starting a “peace council club” at your school with your friends so that you can help solve the fights and problems on the playground. I see you spending your free time working to change the world, and at 9 years old you’re making a difference: In my heart, at your school, and with anyone that meets you. I’m inspired by you every day.

Not a bad December view right?! ✨We stayed at the cutest little beach cottage on the sand with my family last night, explored the tide pools and watched the boat parade on balboa island to celebrate my sister officially being adopted into our family 15 years ago. We celebrate every year because of how thankful we are for the ways she’s truly completed our family. 😊
