When Grandma’s house is the perfect wedding venue!

I thought moving away from the East Coast meant I wouldn’t have to worry about photographing weddings during hurricane season anymore… but apparently, a hurricane didn’t get that memo! 😂 With a hurricane moving up the coast, rain was threatening Charlotte and Connor’s entirely outdoor wedding day.

Thankfully, we only got a few light sprinkles, and their friends and family were more than willing to weather the storm with them. Between jackets, umbrellas, and even a few napkins on heads, we managed to keep everyone relatively dry!

And honestly, the rain was just a small part of what made this day so special. Charlotte and Connor’s wedding was filled with so many meaningful touches, from Charlotte wearing her aunt’s wedding dress to taking photos in the same mirror her mom stood in while getting ready for her own wedding.

Now, Charlotte and Connor have beautiful memories of their own tied to this place, too. From their friends cheering them on as they showed off their rings to dancing the night away in the backyard under the string lights, surrounded by their favorite people, it was the sweetest reminder that a wedding doesn’t have to be perfect to be unforgettable.

Sometimes, the most meaningful venue isn’t a fancy ballroom or a stunning estate. It’s a place filled with history, love, and memories—and now, a few more of their own. ✨

& Seun wedding day

These two found me through a mutual friend, Omar Lopez - SoCal Wedding Photographer , who is also a wedding photographer but was actually going to be a guest at this wedding. So shoutout to Omar for sending them my way!

One of the most important things to Shay & Alexis was getting to actually spend time with the people they love. They had friends and family coming in from all over to celebrate with them, so they wanted LOTS of candids and photos of their people just being themselves.

And The Ethereal Gardens was the perfect place for it. Tucked away in Escondido, California, it gave them a beautiful and private space to celebrate—and let me tell you, their friends and family SHOWED UP dressed to the nines and ready to celebrate these two. 😂

I wasn’t the one getting married, but there were SO many memorable moments from this day that have stuck with me.

Their friends leading everyone in worship during the ceremony and their family praying over them.

The mariachi band serenading everyone during cocktail hour.

Their friends getting ULTRA competitive during the reception game. The seating chart was an innocent casualty. 😂

Their friend singing their first dance song.

And everyone—from the youngest to the oldest—absolutely tearing it up on the dance floor.

It was a day full of happy tears, so much laughter, and the kind of moments you wish you could bottle up and keep forever.

And honestly, THIS is why I love photographing weddings. No two weddings are the same because it’s the couple and their people who make the day special. 🤍

Kind of fell off posting last week, but I am BACK with Sarah & Chris’s intimate wedding day! 🤍

Sarah actually found me through a coworker who I had done photos for, and she booked me before they could even lock in their date at the courthouse. So it was really fun getting to help them plan their day from the very beginning.

We started with their ceremony at the beautiful Old Orange County Courthouse. It has these iconic stairs, but on Fridays, it is PURE CHAOS in there. 😂 Thankfully, everyone was pretty respectful of each other, but you really only have a few minutes before the next couple is coming out to get photos in the space.

So, having done our research, we planned for it!

After we were done at the courthouse, we headed back to their place in Long Beach to take some photos around their neighborhood with their dogs, and then went to a nearby park.

We came back to their house for lunch with their immediate family and ended the day with cake.

Besides the craziness at the courthouse, it was just such a chill, intentional day. And honestly, I LOVE days like this. Your wedding day doesn’t have to be huge or complicated to be incredibly meaningful.

Sometimes it’s just your person, your dogs, your family, a little cake, and a day that feels completely like you.

Finally pulled myself together enough to share Leon & Natalie’s absolutely stunning wedding at Faulkner Winery in Temecula, California. 🤍

Natalie inquired with me after seeing other photos I had taken at Faulkner Winery, and I am SO glad she did.

This was such a beautiful day for an amazing couple, surrounded by an incredible vendor team. I’m truly grateful I got to be a part of their day in this way.

I never take it lightly when couples trust me to capture such precious memories. There’s both a joy and a weight that comes with capturing weddings, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Thank you, Natalie & Leon, for trusting me to come alongside you and capture such a memorable day.
