Gratitude is the word I’d use to describe my time at KBJR.
Gratitude for the opportunities given to a 23-year-old kid that started there more than 4 and a half years ago.
For the people I have had the pleasure of working with over the years and the lasting impression they have left on me.
For the ability to witness history on daily basis (the good, bad, and ugly).
For the amazing chance to meet my wife and to do some pretty special storytelling with her!
All of that and more, I am forever grateful .

As I close this chapter in my life, it has been a lot of fun to look back on memories at KBJR and all the people, places, and things it has brought into my life. This place has had a major influence on me not only as a photojournalist, but on my character as well.

My family and I are looking forward to our next opportunity in North Carolina.
An opportunity to learn and grow as a family, individual, and as a photojournalist.
An opportunity for even more gratitude.

Hey there, my friends and I made a movie that premieres in Duluth on February 3rd to a sold out theater!

A Line in the Snow is a short film that follows Artic explorer, Annie Aggens, as she takes her daughters on a winter camping trip into the Boundary Water Canoe Area Wilderness led by a team of sled dogs. Lessons are taught about winter exploration, mushing, conservation, and motherhood.

January marks 4 years at Northern News Now!

This job and market have offered me so much, and I am forever grateful for the experiences and opportunities that I have been gifted. The Northland is an incredible place to work and play, and KBJR has been a great place to grow both as a photojournalist and a leader.

In my almost decade of news experience, I have been able to work in some awesome newsrooms filled with amazing people but none that quite compare than to those at Northern News Now!

From working with anchors, reporters, my fellow photographers, and especially my own wife, it has been an absolute blast to learn, grow, and tell stories with everyone at KBJR.

As for this next year going forward, I plan to continue to grow as a photojournalist, especially focusing on the leadership side of my job. Outside of work, I look forward to spending more time growing as a husband and dad (and hopefully get in a few camping trips here and there)!
