Eloping in the San Juan Mountains is an experience that’s both intimate and unforgettable.

Imagine exchanging vows surrounded by dramatic peaks, wandering quiet forest trails, discovering hidden waterfalls, or resting by high alpine lakes and wildflower-filled meadows.

Every turn brings a new landscape, every moment feels entirely your own.

It’s the perfect escape from the noise and expectations of a traditional wedding, letting couples focus on what truly matters: being present with each other in a wild, intimate setting.

I’ve put together a complete guide covering everything you need to know about eloping in Telluride and the San Juan Mountains—from the best locations and timing to logistics and planning tips. Link in bio 💕

One of my favorite days in the desert with Anna, Blake, and their two pups—wandering the red rocks of Moab.

Moab is an adventure for pups and their humans. From desert trails to riverfront walks, there are plenty of spots where dogs can explore alongside their owners and enjoy the wide-open landscape. Many hiking spots welcome leashed dogs, and local cafes, lodges, and even some shops roll out the welcome mat for four-legged visitors.

If you’re planning to explore Moab’s national parks with your pups, it’s important to plan ahead. Dogs are only allowed in parking areas, picnic spots, and along paved roads, so they can’t join you on most trails. Bringing plenty of water, shade, and planning shorter adventures around pet-friendly areas will keep your furry friends safe and happy while you soak in the desert views.

Whether it’s chasing red rock trails, splashing in the Colorado River, or just soaking up the desert sunsets, Moab makes it easy for pups to join in on the fun. Just be sure to bring plenty of water!

A quiet sunrise, a mountain trail, and the only witness they needed.

My favorite part about elopements is stripping away all the fuss and soaking in all the love.
