He wasn’t dead, but he was exhausted. I met him as he emerged out of the surf on Cape Cod. He wasn’t the birth of man, he was caught in a significant collapse of the sand bluff, 50’ above the shore I witnessed a few minutes before.

I followed him as he hopped across the beach, trying to reach the bluff again.

Hope he makes it before a bird snatches him.
