Year 4 of our annual community spooky shoot almost didnβt happen. Between real estate negotiations, moving into a brand-new house, and running around like crazy, there was zero time left on the clock. But the second I announced the vampire theme, the universe called my bluff: someone posted a FREE coffin online. β°οΈ Next thing I knew, I talked them into letting us use it, drafted someone to haul a literal 7-foot-by-3-foot casket, ordered 20 pairs of questionable Shein glue-in teeth, and turned my house into a full vampire den.
Fast-forward to yesterday . I spent all afternoon fielding client calls, locking down showings, and putting out fires instead of prepping. By 4 PM, I was running on fumes, completely behind schedule, and sitting right on the edge of a meltdown.
And then⦠absolute magic happened.
Every single woman who walked through my door showed up with pure grace. When the Shein teeth utterly refused to stick, people banded together to fix them ππ¦·. Women jumped into my kitchen to prep fruit platters, washed dishes, brought props, and built this incredible vibe from scratch. We shot for five solid hoursβhuge shoutout to my favorite penguin Alain Matz of Silent 13 Studios for holding down the lens like a champ πΈ (even if we did have to share a camera π)
Watching everyone go from timid to totally fierce was unbelievable, but waking up to todayβs messages has me completely in my feelings. π₯Ή The gratitude, the empowerment, the long lasting friendships sparked inside that roomβ¦ it was worth every ounce of chaos.
Do the crazy thing. Build the set. Most limits live strictly in your headβpush past them, because the best memories always happen way outside your comfort zone. π€π₯
