We had to drive from Michigan to Ohio to get back into Michigan for this restaurant. A waterfront eatery specializing in seafood. I had the chicken... Karen had the mussels. When the weather is warmer... we’re coming back.

First stop... Black Fire Winery. We met the wine maker and owner, Michael Wells. A very nice gentleman, that has some great stories as well as some great wines and beers. The photo below is from the internet. Mr Wells is not so blurry in real life.

On our way for an afternoon of wine tasting... we decided to start our day at the Tecumseh Brewing Co. Great beer selection and if you’re selective... you can find the homemade entrees.

Ended up at a new bar/restaurant in Fraser, MI tonight. It’s called Mi Sports Bar. OK... they have TV’s so, I guess it’s a sports bar. But the “sports bar” menu includes home made smoked meats. Including the applewood smoked chicken wings we enjoyed tonight. The Michigan connection?... the dipping sauces we chose were a Vernors BBQ and a Rock N Rye Sauce.

I've been to #6 - Karas - and it's truly a hole-in-the-wall just a couple of miles from our home.

These places may be modest in appearance, but they pack a big punch in the flavor department.
