There is a very specific kind of magic in a soul dog who stays long enough to bridge two entirely different lifetimes. To walk alongside someone through the soft days of their own childhood, and stay long enough to greet a new generation of little hands.

I spent that evening documenting a lifetime of devotion. We took these photos to honor his quiet, slower pace, anchoring a love that spans decades safely into individual frames.🐾 🤎

It was a rainy evening much like today, but I wouldn’t have missed this for the world.

I’ve photographed their engagement, their wedding, and now their little family of three. Walker is getting so big, so quickly, and there’s something pretty special about getting to document all these chapters as they unfold.

Autumn is in full blaze here in Appalachia, and getting to capture this season of their lives on their own land made this one feel even more like home. Rain, fall color, muddy shoes, and all the little moments in between. 🍂

A rainy sunrise in the Cove, celebrating sixteen years of a sweet girl with her family’s farm close by. 🤍

The morning may not have given us the sunshine we hoped for, but the rain brought its own kind of beauty to the mountains. There’s a certain sweetness in getting to celebrate these milestones in a place that means so much to your family, surrounded by the land that holds so many memories.

Sixteen is such a special age, and I loved getting to capture this season of her life in a place she can always call home.

The morning after they said “I do,” they got dressed up one more time and we headed into the field with their sweetest little sidekick. 🤍

A dress, a tux, wild grass, and their two-year-old running right in the middle of it all.

There’s something beautiful about taking a little time after an elopement to slow down and celebrate the three of them. Not just the newlywed part, but the family they’ve already built together.

The kind of morning that feels simple, joyful, and completely theirs.

I've had the privilege of keeping so many secrets over the past two weeks, but this one had me literally jumping for joy when they spilled the beans about 5 minutes into shooting. I'm so excited to share these now that they've shared their news!!!

"We are so overjoyed with excitement and happiness that we are adding to our Slone clan...We have prayed for over 13 years that we would be blessed to be parents and are soaking in every second of our sweet baby growing."

Every year after our session, Linda says, "maybe next year will be a baby announcement." And every year I pray that it is. This year, I had no idea our annual photoshoot would be the one. When they surprised me with the news my eyes genuinely teared up. I have the best job and I feel so honored to celebrate life's biggest moments with each of you. And when I say "celebrate with" I mean I WILL CELEBRATE! Jumping, cheering, squealing, and hugging. Life takes a village and I will always be one of your villagers.
