Sweet Emma was the last of 6 to graduate. I’m so proud of her and not just because she’s family. Just like her siblings before, she brought “grandma’s quilt” with her for these photos. My great Aunt Lou’s quilt wasn’t the only thing sentimental about this session. They met me not long after sunrise at a spot that I will always associate with my Aunt Lou and Uncle George, her grandparents, and it felt like they were there. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for the baby of the Collins Clan. I know it’s bright. 🩵

A big congratulations to all of the TCPS seniors on their graduation today. It has been a joy to document your senior year. I can't wait to see where each of you go from here.

All cap and gown sessions have been completed and sent to your inboxes! I can't wait to highlight each of you this coming week.

It was easy to follow Joe and Ash across the fields with my camera. Easy is a good word to describe their kind of love. They are comfortable by each other sides, safe. Our time was full of belly laughs, and tender moments. The light turned to gold, blue, then black. We soaked up every moment. I’ve never been so glad that Instagram increased the number of slides per post. How can you choose which images to share when the gallery looks like this? I cannot wait to be back on this farm next month for their wedding day. 🌅🐐🐾💍

Best. Day. Ever. Meet The Trundles. I’m so happy for my girl Katelyn. She was the most beautiful bride. Their wedding was so relaxed and full of love all around. It was an honor to document it. I wish you both the biggest congratulations and many years of love, laughter, and adventures together. 🩵 🥂 here’s a sneak peek from just one of the three cameras that covered this day.

Josh and Rip were ready for cap and gown photos. We didn’t walk across campus in front of the big, brick school. Instead we ventured through fields where different lessons were taught. Not the ones you learn in books, but the kind that will stay with you for a lifetime. They were at home, literally and figuratively. And that’s exactly how senior photos should be.

The Good Old Days

Now that you're a mother
They say that you will change
And what a gift it is
To never be the same
To take with you the old
And rearrange the new
To hold a little hand
Thant grows alongside you
You'll hope you don't forget
You'll try to remember "then"
You'll drift back to the "good old days"
Seeing now, that this, was them.

-Jessica Urlichs

I've been reading through a collection of poems today in the book "They Bloom Because of You" by Jessica Urlichs. What a beautiful and accurate interpretation of motherhood. I will always appreciate how art can capture so much emotion, whether it's through words or images. This poem is a real example of why I feel so strongly about capturing moments instead of smiles. Sometimes smiles come with the moment, but there is always connection. The connection is what keeps the memory alive.

Graduation day for the senior and I can’t believe it. I’ve been photographing this family for the last several years and now the youngest one is wrapping up his high school career. My how time flies. The session was extra special because not only is he the last to graduate in his family, but he is of the last graduating class at Twin Valley High School. Congrats to Blake and big hugs for Erica 😭 . I know it’s a big day for both of you.

This maternity session was well worth the drive and even the bear that tried to crash it. We took our time wandering across the farm and had perfect weather with a perfect sunset in the perfect scenery. What more could you ask for? I could fee the excitement, anticipation, and even the nervousness that comes as a due date gets closer. Baby girl is so luck to have such loving parents patiently awaiting her arrival.

Lots of graduations last weekend and I am so thankful that I was able to capture this moment for the grads. I do love working with all of the high school seniors, but there’s something special about celebrating such a big milestone with these college students. Lots of hard work and dedication went into this moment and a big congratulations is due to each of you!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mamas out there. Day, night, and all four seasons, you are the glue that keeps it all together. Today and every day you should be celebrated.
