Hi all! 👋 It’s pretty much been crickets around since old Covid came into all our lives. I thought you guys deserved a formal update from me. If you haven’t already heard I’m closing up shop...yes it’s true. (Que all the tears)…..covid sort of forced me into a semi retirement and then I made the final decision once I saw what my life would be like without photography in it. Which was more time for my family and new projects and adventures for me.
But I wanted to let you all know what you have meant to me over these last 8 or so years! You see I’m not a “peopley” kind of person...Oh yea I can break out extrovert Melissa but then she likes to go back in her shell. So sessions 3-4 times a week forced me out of that shell more than I ever would have been, and I’m appreciative for that. You see, because of this adventure I have had a glimpse into a lot of people’s lives that I never would of.
I’ve been there when your babies have taken their first breath, when you said I do to the love of your life, through first husbands and then second husbands. You’ve invited me into your life after chemo sessions and at your last session ever as a family. I tagged along at county fairs, family get together’s and we have taken joy rides together around town looking for those hidden gem spots! We’ve had some mishaps too...babies touching hot wire fences and the ever memorable time we were attacked by bee’s! All while doing a HECK of a lot of trespassing! (sorry not sorry!)
It’s been a crazy beautiful, wipe your baby’s nose, kind of ride, and I would never take it back! Photography allowed me to tap into my creative/artsy side that I didn’t know was there! I want to thank each and every one of you for inviting me into your lives! All the way from my first newborn who I posed on a bench in my kitchen in front of a sliding door (eek!) to the last one!! So I wanted to leave you with just SOME of my favorites..and to say goodbye to this chapter in my life but not to the relationships I’ve made along the way. So to tap into my radio days..this is Melissa signing off!
