Some Kev and Reba on 35mm film ❤️❤️❤️

Shooting on film in my personal life the last year and a half has given me a new love for photography and way for me to document life as it happens around me. A way of photographing that is detached from perfection and constant reviewing!

Shooting these two on film was the first time I formally directed a couple with film and I’m SO OBSESSED with the results. Going to be looking for ways to incorporate this into my couples sessions and weddings over the next few months!

Kevin actually gifted me my favorite film camera, and he’s been shooting film since like 2014 when he was in high school. He knows so much about film and he and Reba have a point and shoot film camera within the vicinity nearly 100% of the time.

They’ve captured a lot of their relationship on film so I was honored to capture both their proposal and session after this way. 🧡

Can’t wait for more moments with them and a future with Rebecca in our family!

Thinking back to a few April’s ago when I attended a styled shoot in West Texas directed and planned by and .photography!

The spring air makes me think of traveling for this shoot, and how much has changed since then! I’m grateful for all of life’s changes and still love looking back at these and the rest from these sessions. 🧡

I don’t do a ton of family sessions, but when I do, I love when they’re with families I love! Chelena was my roomate in college and her family was a huge bonus when she became one of my best friends. 🧡

Her Yia Yia and Papa are the sweetest and I so appreciate how the Henning family treats me like family!

Fun fact, the day I shot these photos, Yia Yia had her yearly “garage sale” where she organizes all the things she would like to give away in her garage for her grandkids to come shop and fill laundry hampers with before things head to goodwill and I think that is so clever! I also walked away with a sweet purse so there were many benefits to this session! 💛

When we were planning out an afternoon family session, Angelise asked if she could plan to put on her original wedding dress and surprise Josh with it. The two of them eloped during covid and Josh had never seen her in her original wedding gown! I was originally booked for their wedding, but COVID and deployments and life had different plans! I’m so glad we were able to do a family session together and sneak these moments into it.

Angelise is so freaking stunning, I could stare at these portraits forever!

Secrets out!!! I’m so so excited to be sharing photos of what I was up to this weekend!!!

I had the honor of helping and documenting my brother .o0o proposing to his girlfriend !!!

Kevin and Rebecca, I love you both so much and I am so thrilled and thankful to have been a part of your engagement and to be a witness to such an important moment.

Reba, I can’t wait to have you as a sister in law. You bring so much lighthearted happiness to my family and you have already been such a blessing to us. 🧡🧡🧡 🍾

Now we gotta plan a party!!!

Let’s talk about contagious joy and laughter. These two, they’ve got it!!! It’s not every day that I photograph two people and feel so instantly comfortable and at ease and like I’ve known them my whole life!

Jane and I actually have some family in common on my dads side, but we have only met once when we were in lower elementary school! That may have something to do with the instant connection, but I think it had a lot more to do with Jane’s absolutely loving personality and bubbly demeanor. She and Phil’s humors match up so seamlessly and photographing them truly felt more like hanging out than working. I cannot wait for their wedding this summer!

Emma and Eric were simply amazing to work with. They eloped during the first wave of covid and saved some excitement for their big wedding day! These two have the best tough and loving spirits and didn’t let anything stop them from having that precious moment of walking down the aisle and celebrating with their families! One of the wonderful things about being a wedding photographer during covid was being able to get to know families over time through engagement sessions, elopements, and the final celebration of their “big wedding”!
