Sometimes while I’m out I come across the real hardcore birders and I realize I am not even close to their level 😂 Some of these people take birding very seriously, I don’t. My life list is relatively low and I don’t go out of my way to spot any one species. I’m just enjoying being outside and playing with my camera. Learning about the birds as I go is just a bonus.

The Palm Island Park, a.k.a. The Mount Dora Boardwalk is a cool little nature trail that packs a lot to see in one small area. I’ve never gone and been disappointed, the wildlife is there in abundance year round! Plus, who doesn’t love a good lighthouse?!

Wasn’t expecting to cross this one off my bucket list in good ol Eustis, Florida! I may have yelled a little when I saw I got a pic in focus because I had almost no time to react 😂 I just saw a flash of pink and knew it had to be a Roseate Spoonbill.

We found the sleepiest little Barred Owl ever at Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park! Megan saw it swoop by while I was makes sammiches so I stopped what I was doing to go find it. Watched him nod off a couple times before I decide to let it have its beauty rest. Cutest thing ever!

Little Northern Harrier action from Paynes Prairie this week. Kinda surprised I was even able to get this photo because it wouldn’t get very close to us.
