your wedding party sets the tone of your entire day and I say that as someone who’s watched it play out both ways.

I’ve photographed weddings where the wedding party was calm, present, and genuinely happy to be there. and I’ve photographed ones where the energy in the bridal suite at 9am set off a chain reaction that lasted until the reception.

this isn’t about picking your best friends. it’s about being intentional.

onestly, moving to florida has humbled me in the best way.
i spent years shooting in chicago, grey skies, brick walls, that moody midwest energy that just made sense to me. coming down here felt disorienting at first. the light is different. the landscape is different. i didn’t know how to make it mine.

but last spring i got to shoot my friend Courtney (.adelle)(Expedition Joy Photography) and her family at golden hour in st. pete, and something clicked. i stopped fighting the softness and just let it exist. i’m still chasing the moodier, richer tones i love, but i’m learning that growth means letting the work surprise you sometimes.

this season has been a lot of figuring out who i am as a photographer outside of the city i grew up in. it’s scary and slow and also kind of beautiful.

if you’re in a season of transition too, you’re not behind. you’re just becoming something new.

Almost ten years into this and the thing I’m most proud of isn’t my gear or my edit style.

It’s that I got quiet.

I used to work hard at weddings. Running around, filling cards, making sure I got everything. I was exhausted and so were my couples.
Now I slow down. I find a corner. I wait.

Turns out the good stuff happens when nobody’s performing for anyone.

Comparison sneaks in so quietly.

One minute you’re excited and grounded and feeling good…
and the next you’re wondering if you’re doing it “right” because someone else is doing it louder.

I have to remind myself (often), what looks effortless on the outside usually has a whole lot of unseen work, doubt, and mess behind it. Mine included.

You don’t need a different timeline, a different body, a different relationship, or a different life for what you have to be valid.
You just need permission to stop measuring yourself against rooms you’re not even standing in.

If you’re in a season where comparison is stealing your peace, come sit here for a second. You’re not behind. You’re not late. You’re just human, doing your best with what you have today.

My business is built on human rights and community.
On protecting people, not power. It is intentionally not neutral. It is intentionally protective. If you treat human rights like a joke, If cruelty is entertainment to you, If you can watch all of this unfold and respond with apathy, mockery, This is not the space for you. You are not welcome at my table. I will always choose alignment over comfort.

throwing something a little different out there.

I’m opening a few very intentional wedding spots for 2026 in Central Florida for couples who are into a moody, film-forward, editorial vibe, but also want a wedding day that actually feels fun to live inside. I've dropped my personal vision board for the approach and edits I am gravitating on working towards. My work can be viewed on instagram [see below]

this is a 30% reduced 8–10 hour collection, and I want to be super clear about why:

after 8 years and 300+ weddings, I’m in a season where I want to push my craft in real, lived-in ways, not styled shoots, no fake timelines. I want real schedules, real chaos, real emotion, and space to play with pacing and editorial portraits on an actual wedding day.

this is me being a nerd about growth and wanting to level up in a way that styled shoots just don’t allow. I might be a good fit if:
you’re working with a planner or coordinator (important for flow + sanity)

- your wedding is intimate-ish (125 guests or fewer)
- small wedding party energy
- elopements, dinner-party weddings, micro celebrations = YES
- you love a classy aesthetic but are also fully prepared to take shots and shake b***y on the dance floor
- you’re getting married in 2026

logistics, because I know people will ask:

- 8–10 hours of coverage
- 30% reduced rate [$3150, my average for this collection is $4500]
- 4 hours of second photographer coverage
- Timeline planning call
- Hybrid photography with 2-3 rolls of film included
- full portfolio + marketing usage required
- signed contract + 50% non-refundable retainer

I’m not everyone’s cup of tea, and I don’t want to be.
but if your vision is beautiful + unhinged, intentional but not stiff, and you want a photographer who will absolutely hype you up and keep things grounded… this might be a really good fit.

I dont know if it's because of the holidays or the sentimental feelings surrounding this session but some stories don’t start when you expect them to, they quietly build over years.
High school friendships, karaoke nights in our 20s, and now this moment with Alyssa & Chris as they prepare for their wedding. I’m so in awe of how life threads these chapters together.
This session felt whimsical, emotional, and deeply full circle. I cannot wait to celebrate their love next year.
