Happy Mother’s Day!

Nothing can simply replace the role of a mother or mother influence! True superhero’s that shine daily. Despite the chaos of life they show up daily to take care of everyone.

Our girls are so blessed to have an incredible mother, Nana, Mimi & Aunts!

Sorry for the late post, my mom was on gas duty for the boat but forgot. We spent the day yesterday stranded on the Gulf of America for 18 hours…I did also get attacked from a crab. Still recovering 🤣

Guests have gotten out of control.

Guests have such a chokehold on hosts these days it’s insane.

If I was to bring this up to the guest, we risk the factor of them leaving us a less than 5 star review and it effecting our performance.

Luckily nothing is damaged, just facing the inconvenience of removing TVs are the house and setting them back up.

I truthfully feel like short term rental guests these days have just gotten outta control. They expect the world, but couldn’t care less of the condition they leave the property.

And let me be fair this isn’t every guest. But I have seen an increase in this behavior over the past year.

Many of us hosts have been anticipating this week.

Airbnb has transitioned all hosts on property management softwares to a 15.5% host only fee.

Yikes…

If hosts don’t carefully navigate these waters they can be losing 15.5% of their payouts to Airbnb. It’s been rumored that by December all hosts will be on this host only fee structure.

Luckily, as a seasoned host I have been using and they have simplified this transitional period.

Here’s a quick breakdown:

On hospitable, click on your property, click on pricing & by markups and adjustments make sure Airbnb is changed to 18.34%. Then go to fees (cleaning fee, pet fee, etc) and make sure the 18.34% is applied to your base fee price as well.

As a seasoned host & co-host these are the fine details we always stay up to date with at to make sure busy owners can have a partner they trust!

The million dollar question is, what happens from here…
