Kim Turner Photography Fine Art Photographer based in Tampa Bay. If a picture is worth 1,000 words, then a picture of your child’s first breath is worth 1,000,000.

As women, we are used to hiring professional photographers to shoot our weddings, and rightfully so. It’s the most important day of our lives. Until we have a child. If the birth of our children is equally if not more monumental than our wedding day, then why are so many mom’s content with having their partner document what is an equally monumental day in their life? In all the wonderful emotions

of the moment, both you and your partner will desire to focus on only one thing: your newborn baby. Leave the responsibilities of documenting this incredible experience to someone else, so that you can take it all in in real-time. When I was pregnant with my first daughter, I knew I wanted a professional photographer there to capture the miracle of birth and my daughter’s grand entry into the world. I wanted something tangible to remind my husband and I of the first time we held her, that first cry, her expressions, our expressions and all of the subtle things that happen in those truly miraculous moments. Those are moments that you can never get back. Much like your wedding day, everything goes by so quickly that it’s impossible to fully appreciate in real-time. Unfortunately, I was unable to secure a photographer to capture the birth of my daughter, and I regret not having that visual diary of those special first moments when my husband and I became parents. That personal regret coupled with my professional passion for photography led me to pursue this dream of ensuring that mothers like you do not miss out on what I did. That’s why I do what I do. I love nothing more than capturing the most beautiful moments of the most important day in your life. I consider it a deep honor and a privilege to be with you as a miracle transforms your life. As a professional photographer, I was born and trained (at Columbia College in Chicago) as an artist and a documentarian. My passion is telling beautiful stories. And what more beautiful story is there to tell than the birth of a child? This will be the moment your life changes forever. This is the moment your family is born. The passion of your life is about to be your child. My passion is ensuring that you and your family remember every detail of his or her birthday for the rest of your lives.

The best, most wonderful surprise this week! The May issue of The Sun Magazine arrived, with my photo on the cover and a note from the founder, Sy Safransky. To have my photo chosen for this month's edition is truly an honor.

If you haven't read an issue of The Sun I highly recommend checking it out. It's an independent, thoughtful publication. A quote from their website: "The Sun has attempted to marry the personal and political; to honor the genuine and the spiritual; to see what kind of roommates beauty and truth can be; and to show that powerful teaching can be found in the lives of ordinary people."

A big thank you to Mr. Safransky and the entire Sun staff for your dedication to creating an ace magazine every month.

Pass Christian, MS. Expired Polaroid film & Colorpack III.

Per usual, I was a slow poke at completing this challenge but I think Katy already knew the pace at which I moved when she tagged me. And I also think there's a bit of fortuity that we were on this beach together when I shot this.
Anyone else care to participate? All you do is post 5 photos with the theme of Nature. Your supposed to tag a few other people to keep it all going. So...Ann, Melissa, Stacie, Roxanne I'm tagging you, no pressure friends, only if you want to.

Image Transfer onto Plexi
A couple of weeks ago, Katy Tuttle asked me to participate in a 5 photo challenge with the theme of Nature. I've been experimenting with transferring images to materials other than paper and this is my first go at transferring to plexi glass.
