November in Churchill, Canada - the polar bears are impatiently waiting for the Hudson Bay to freeze over. Winter comes later each year to this part of the world and the bears are forced to wait longer before they can head out onto the sea ice to hunt their main food source, ringed seals. The young males pass the time by pitting their strength against each other. Up on their hind legs, they stand nearly 10 feet tall. A single blow from the 1,800 lbs giants would kill a man on the spot.
