Anyway, here are some outfits I’ve worn lately. I’ve been essentially living in sweats and sports bras though, so these are a treat.

Oh and fall is almost here. If you know me you know I normally am decorated for Halloween already, unfortunately I will not be decorating my home this year…. Now my sisters house? Yeah, it’s about to get a Halloween make over. You should probably, no, definitely be getting prepared for that.

Life has been crazy, and if you’ve been here since the beginning, bless you. If you’re just joining and have no clue what is happening, get in, buckle up, we are growing babes. In all of the best ways. I’ll bet you want to know why I’m not decorating for my favorite holiday…..

When I first started shooting, it was back in 2010…. Dating myself I know. But I got into photography because I wanted to take pictures that had feeling behind them. I wanted them to move the viewer in a way that couldn’t be replicated. My images were mainly closeups of hair and eyelashes as the focus. Hugs and arms and freckles. The details, if you will.

The rich colors was what hooked me next. I wanted them to feel deep and connective. Like a warm hug, chocolate chip cookies or a fuzzy blanket. I knew that in my shadows I wanted deep reds and magentas. I wanted my highlights to be bright and not muddy. I knew what I wanted.

When I finally got those, don’t you know the ‘trends’ all changed. But want to know what stayed the same?

The photographer and the visions. Adjusting is a part of life, but the artist behind it will always connect and leave traces of themselves in their art.

I have avoided planning a random beach/pool day this week because it’s Florida and the forecast is sporadic as hell. 100% chance of rain? No rain. 0% chance of rain? Jk, you’re getting rain all day.

Do you feel that? The shift? It’s happening as we speak.
The excitement is back. The anxious excitement. The butterflies in your stomach that won’t settle. Because something big is happening. I can’t place my finger on it but I can feel it.

Buckle up babe, things are changing. For the better this time.

Picture this:
Huge bang. Followed by a few smaller clatters.
“ARE YOU OKAY?! Is everything okay?!” Literally every person in the house screams while moving towards the sound.
This is our house. Nobody goes unnoticed, no sound goes unclaimed, and nobody has to worry that they aren’t cared for. It’s one of my favorite things about our family. It seems so silly but teaching them to be caring, thoughtful, empathetic humans is one of my proudest moments as a mom.
