One of the most meaningful parts of my work is knowing that these images don’t just live on a screen, they become part of everyday life.

After an end-of-life pet session I photographed, I created a folio box filled with printed portraits of Carly’s sweet girl, Laney.

A year after her passing, I reached out to check in. Her owner replied, “Your photos are the perfect memory of our special girl. We look at them every day.”

As a photographer (and a busy mom) I know exactly how easy it is for our most meaningful photos to end up buried on a hard drive or lost somewhere in the camera roll. (Guilty!)

We tell ourselves we’ll print them someday, frame them when life slows down, or finally make that album when we have a free weekend. (Spoiler alert: that free weekend rarely appears.)

That’s why I’ve built my photography experience to go beyond simply delivering digital files. Together, we’ll create artwork that is ready to be displayed, shared, and enjoyed every single day.

Book your portrait session in June and receive a complimentary $150 artwork credit to use toward heirloom albums, framed prints, or wall art—so your favorite moments become something beautiful you can proudly show off.

The other morning, my daughter pulled on a pair of socks that used to swallow her whole. They were from when she was about five months old: soft, oversized, grippy bottomed. One of those little things that gets tucked away and somehow still finds its way back into rotation. This time, they barely fit. She noticed my face change and asked why I looked sad. I told her it wasn’t sadness, really, that I was just emotional thinking about how amazing it is that she keeps on growing. Because she’s growing fast, and some days that feels louder than others.

Most family photos live on a phone for a few weeks before they quietly disappear into the camera roll.

But something changes when your memories become part of your home: when your daughter walks past this wall every day and sees herself wrapped up in you, when these moments become something your family lives with...not just scrolls past.

That’s why printed products matter so much. Albums, wall art, tangible pieces of your story you can actually hold and live with.

The goal is never just “taking photos.” It’s preserving connection in a way that can actually be seen, held, and remembered.

"I wanted photos done for Mother's day this year since my son and daughter are growing up in front of my eyes. The kids actually were ready to do the shoot. When we arrived to the photo shoot, we just knew we were going to be in great hands. Katie is amazing in how she makes you feel comfortable and confident. These 2 elements will only equal FUN as you choose to make lasting memories with photos to share with your friends and family.” -Nichelle

Some clients just stick with you—Nichelle is one of those clients. I connected with Nichelle instantly when she showed up for her Mother’s Day session back in 2021. Nichelle is one of those people who just lifts other people up. I’m honored to still call her a friend five years later.

What does it mean to be "mom"? A name I've known in my soul for the last three years, I really got thinking about what it means to be "mom". Not "A mom" but, "mom", something so personal to the little ones (or big ones) that look to us every day for safety, security, and guidance. Sure, a mom is the one who keeps the snacks and the schedules. They're the one snapping cell phone photos knowing they'll never get this time back.

But "mom"? She's the one who the sticky little hands reach for instinctively when times are hard. She's the one whose boo boo kisses perform miracles. Mom deserves more than just STUFF this mother's day. Mom deserves to be part of the story she’s helping create every day.

This Mother’s Day, family portrait sessions are open for families who want to preserve real connection—no pressure, no perfection, just the people you love most, as they are.
