Have you been thinking of a having a session at home but are hesitant about having the house ready? You don’t need a lot of space and I can work my magic to make your space look IG ready. I’ve taken photos in a kitchen, a small area of a living room, on a master bedroom, a small corner of a back yard, and other spaces throughout clients’ homes. You don’t need a lot of space and we can move things around! Your photos will be beautiful! Don’t let an undone space be the reason you decide against photos for your family. As a mom of 3, I absolutely adore being able to photograph siblings. It’s just special to photograph the newest big brothers and big sisters with their little brothers and little sisters. 🤍

This month marks our 20th anniversary of knowing each other. Fun fact, my husband and I met on Valentine’s Day. What a whirlwind it’s been since and what a beautiful life we’ve built. I could go on and on but I’ll keep it fairly short. Peter Ruiz, thank you for loving me on my best days but even more on my worst days. I prayed for you as a little girl and never could I have imagined having 3 beautiful babies that look like you. Thank you for the best 20 years of my life so far. I know the best is yet to come as we continue our journey as momma and daddy to the tiny humans we both prayed for so many years ago. ❤️

Since having our second and third babies, Peter and I decided I would stay home with them and also work on building my photography business (Chrismarie Ruiz Photography, LLC) in 2020. This year I’m looking forward to growing my newborn work even more! Newborn sessions have my heart especially since we struggled to have babies for the first 6 years of our marriage. It was all in God’s perfect timing and now we have 3 energetic littles (4 counting our pup). 💙💙🩷🐶

Answer the poll: Would you rather have an in-home newborn session or a studio session? What if you could have the best of both?

The C family got to have just that. We set up their room for a few posed studio-like photos and also got a few portraits of them all snuggled at home.

Happy New Year! This week marks my 4th full year in business. What started as a hobby almost 14 years ago has slowly grown. My hobby and now business has changed as my life changed. When I first started photography, I was engaged, living in NYC, and needed a creative outlet from teaching. For a time I focused on weddings and slowly moved to maternity, families, and newborns.

I spent most of 2023 wondering, praying about what to do with my business. As a mom of 3 kids who are growing so fast, reaching so many different milestones in just one single year, figuring out a way to run this business in a way that worked for my family and also served my clients in the best way possible has changed over the last 4 years. I was teaching full time and a mom of 1 when I first started this business.

This summer and fall, I gained clarity and am so excited for the future. At least for now, in this season that I lovingly refer to as an “all hands on deck” kind of parenting season (most days we don’t even have enough hands 😂), I found a way to run this business in way that works for me so that I can be the best mom, wife, and photographer.

Thank you for all the support all these years. Some of you have been with me since 2010. I’ll be back next week to share more on the direction CRP is taking this year. 🤍

Sweet baby Michaela entered this world on the first day of fall AND her mom and dad’s 6-month wedding anniversary! The best gift there could be to mark such an occasion!
