My advice for wedding days is pretty simple.

Relax.

I know. It seems cliche and almost counter to what your body might be feeling. But I promise it can be done successfully.

Just let the day happen and spend your energy taking mental pictures of your experiences.

The best moments usually show up when people are just present with each other.

Everything else tends to work itself out.

Wedding days are long.

And it helps a lot if your photographer doesn’t feel like some random guy who showed up with a camera.

So when I walk in, I’m not grabbing my gear and hiding in a corner. I’m saying hi to your parents. I’m shaking hands. I’m learning names.

Because by the time I start taking photos, I don’t want to feel like “the vendor.” I want it to feel like I’m just there with you.

And when it feels like that? Everyone relaxes. The smiles are real. The moments aren’t stiff.

Really, it’s when the photos start looking like *you*.
