I remember when I was ten years old, I was standing in the middle of a group of professional photographers, calmly explaining to them why I would like my photography to be judged along side the adults’ work rather than the other children’s work. I believed that I was talented enough at that age to compete with people who had been photographers since before I was born. Now that I am older, I realiz
e I had a lot to learn before I was ready to compete at the professional level. Even now, I am still in school, practicing and learning more about my craft, until I am the best that I can be.”
Jordan Nachole grew up in a family of photographers. Her parents bought her first camera for her when she was just a small child, and she has been shooting ever since. As a child, she spent most of her time in her mother’s photography studio. This is where she learned traditional photography and lighting techniques. She spent the first 16 years of her life living in a suburb of Dallas, Texas. She attended Lakeview Centennial High School, where she was in the Tv Production program and the sports photographer for the 2011-2012 yearbook. In the spring of 2012, she moved to Florida to attend G Star School of the Arts. During her time at G Star, she studied film, animation, and photography. She was also a Co-Editor on the 2013-2014 yearbook staff. She graduated from G Star in May of 2014 and continued Florida State University to finish her education. She is half way through her education at Florida State. She will graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2018. Her focus consists of cinematography and photography. She enjoys psychological thrillers, especially ones that deal with mental illness/instability. Some of her favorite films are Amadeus, One Hour Photo, and Upstream Color. She also has a strong interest in documentaries and BTS films. Some of her favorite documentaries are Mile… Mile-and-a-Half and 10MPH; both of these documentaries are about people who had a dream to do something outrageous- and they went out and accomplished it. Jordan’s goal after she graduates is to travel as a photographer and/or cinematographer. She hopes to become a Director of Photography once her career has matured.
