Hey friends!! The little chitchat I post around this time every year, because looking at the 10 day forecast it’s time. We are starting to get into summer, and in Alabama, we all know what that means. This is when our weather really gets wonky. There will be storms one minute, sun the next, then dark clouds, and the forecast changes by the hour. It gets worse the hotter our days get. Most days are sunny and nice, and as soon as noon hits, the clouds and rain start rolling in.
If you are scheduled for a summer session with any photographer, not just me, please show grace if you have to be rescheduled due to weather issues, and please don’t get upset with us. Weather is way out of our control. You hire us to provide you with a professional service and we want to make sure you get our very best product. For photographers, weather, but more importantly *light*, is one of the main factors for a good session. Luckily, I am so blessed to have such amazing clients that are always understanding. Some sessions absolutely call for a moody overcast vibe, and some need that magical golden sunset. Trust your photographer when we say we need to reschedule for weather. It’s most certainly for your benefit. We don’t make the rain and we sure can’t make it sunny, not even in photoshop. I promise it’s probably even more heartbreaking for us, especially with times like they are, to have to cancel a session and take up another day. Bad weather causes us to lose money and time. Please show grace. This time of year is just about as busy as fall/holiday busy season, but toss some weather issues in the mix. It’s probably our most stressful season.
Big bear hugs to all of my photographer friends for our upcoming Alabama summer. May we all stay dry, but not so dry that all the pretty, whispy grass dies and gets crunchy. Amen. Hallelujah. Holy ****. Where’s the Tylenol?!
