Photography has been my life’s work for over fifty years. During that time, I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the most respected names in the industry — including Pl***oy, the Ellis Island Group, JCPenney, Sears, Atlon outdoor and the Associated Press. Through it all, one truth has never changed: the goal is to create photographs, not merely take pictures.

In today’s world, anyone can buy a camera and call themselves a photographer, but that doesn’t make them one. True photography requires vision, technical mastery, and a deep understanding of light and composition. The camera is only a tool — the real artistry comes from the person behind it.

I studied under the principles of Ansel Adams’ Zone System, and I remain a firm believer in the power of tonal range, contrast, and high dynamic range to make a photograph look the way it should — balanced, dimensional, and emotionally compelling.

Over the years, I’ve offered to share my knowledge and experience with others behind the camera, free of charge. Sadly, few have ever taken me up on it. In an age obsessed with instant gratification, true craftsmanship seems to be fading — and that, to me, is the real loss.
