Dear North Carolina… after nearly 30 years, it’s finally time to say goodbye. 💔
It’s hard to put into words what this place has meant to me. So many memories were made here. So many people walked into my life, became family, and slowly became part of the story I’ll carry forever. Some stayed, some faded away, and some became memories I wish I could relive just one more time.
This state watched me grow through every version of myself — the good years, the painful ones, the moments that changed everything. Every road, every mountain view, every small town holds a piece of my heart.
Now life is pulling us somewhere new.
On Monday, we begin a two-week drive across the country, chasing a future we’ve dreamed about while quietly grieving the life we’re leaving behind. We’ll stop at beautiful places along the way, trying to soak in every moment before June brings us to our next chapter in Washington State.
I’m excited. I’m terrified. I’m emotional in ways I didn’t expect.
Because sometimes moving forward means mourning the life you once loved.
Thank you, North Carolina, for almost 30 unforgettable years. You’ll always feel a little like home. ❤️
