I love capturing newborn photos, but not for the reason you think.

I love getting to capture this season of life for the moms. I know what a miracle each baby is. I know of the long 9 months, where her body is growing, shifting, expanding in ways she never thought possible.

I know of the tears. The fear. The love.

I know that feeling of getting to hold your little one for the first time. But I also know the fear of not everything being perfect and going to plan.

I love capturing newborn photos to celebrate everything that it took to get here. These photos are a testament to everything you went through to get your baby here.

It’s a beautiful thing, really.

Strong Like Mom minis with were so amazing! It filled my cup just being surrounded by such amazing, kind, loving, and fun women.

In motherhood we give so much of ourselves to these tiny humans we created, it’s easy to leave ourselves behind when being pulled in so many directions.

What is better than a freshly born baby with parents who love him?

Loved this Fresh 48 session. Not sure if you can even call it that. I let mom and dad do their thing and I was able to be there and witness it through my lens.

I love the realness. The raw. The story. Posed photos have a time and place, but it will never beat capturing these real moments.

Which type of newborn photos is your favorite?

I’ve done all four and each one of them holds a special place for me. I do believe there isn’t a right or wrong answer, just depends on what you value and what your needs are in this season of life!

No matter which you choose, I believe that capturing these moments when your baby is so small, so fresh out of the womb is so important!
