A flat lay is often the first visual chapter of a wedding gallery. Before the emotions, the vows, and the movement of the day unfold, flat lays introduce the tone — the textures and intentional design choices that make the wedding unique.

They matter because they preserve the details that are easy to forget in the moment:
• Invitation suites that were carefully chosen
• Heirloom jewelry or meaningful accessories
• Perfume, shoes, vow books, and florals
• Subtle design elements that tie everything together

These are the pieces couples spend months selecting, yet they’re often the first things to get overlooked once the day begins. Flat lays ensure those details are documented in a refined, elevated way.

From a storytelling perspective, flat lays create cohesion in a gallery. They give context to everything that follows — visually tying together the color palette, textures, and overall aesthetic. Without them, a gallery can feel like it jumps straight into moments without setting the scene.

They also elevate the final gallery into something more editorial and timeless. Instead of just documenting what happened, flat lays help transform a wedding gallery into something that feels curated and intentional — like a feature in a magazine rather than just a collection of images.

Just a friendly reminder that I am currently on maternity leave through July as I take this time to rest, prepare, and soak in these final moments before welcoming our baby!

This leave does not affect any weddings or sessions already booked for June — everything scheduled will still be honored and taken care of as planned. However, during this time, all emails, inquiries, and general communication may have a slower response time than usual.
