Sneak Peak of Mika’s Senior Pictures 📸 ✨

A few years ago, Steve stood beside me while I took his daughter’s senior pics and told me that in a few years I’d be taking his son’s senior pics, too. Yesterday I had the pleasure to take his son’s senior pics, and although Steve wasn’t standing beside me for this one, he found a way to show us that he was still right there with us. While editing last night, I noticed a cardinal sitting in the trees above Mika, posing for the camera in several pics.

This was such a special session for me, right in our own backyard that holds so many memories, and Steve’s presence was strongly felt.

Anyways… look at this kid!! I know that Steve is looking down and is so undoubtably proud of Mika + Mia for all that they’ve accomplished in his honor 💙

I’ve been quiet here for a while. After the unexpected loss of my partner, I took a pause on photography and everything else in between.

Steve fully believed in my photography passion. He supported every idea I had, encouraged me endlessly, helped me build props and sets, and even invested in equipment so I could grow my craft. On my busiest nights, he stayed up late while I edited to keep me company. He was always the first one cheering me on, brainstorming with me, and reminding me that I could do anything I set my mind to. Steve praised my passion and was my biggest fan. So much of what I built was built with his love behind it.

While grieving, picking up my camera has reminded me that even in grief, there can still be beauty and light. I’ll be spending more time rebuilding my photography business from the ground up, carrying his encouragement with me every step of the way. Thank you for being here, for your patience, and for walking this journey with me.
