We hope to see you at the Spayghetti Dinner Thursday night at Oak Grove Senior Center! You can buy a plate to eat there or take it to go. It’s a great event that raises funds for spay and neuter efforts in our community. Please share!

It’s almost here! The address for Oak Grove Senior Center is 1042 Forest Glen Rd Sylacauga. If you are volunteering or bringing desserts, we ask that you try to be there between 3:30-4:00 pm. We will start plating up food at 5:00 pm. It will last till
7:00 pm or until we run out. Please be patient with us. All proceeds will go to spay/neuter for our city/county. TIA!!

On this weeks Pet Connect, Tara Douglas interviewed Mayor Matt Hubbard about the ongoing 280 Stray Dog project. They discuss next steps to handle the current strays in the area. Avoid the rumors and go straight to the source with this interview! Please take a few minutes to catch up and stay informed.

Our shelter is so fortunate to have St. Hubert’s Animal Rescue as one of our rescue partners. They regularly take van loads of our shelter residents that have no adoption interest locally. Because of them, we are able to move dogs along, where they find loving homes up north, and free up space for other animals in our community. This is a huge reason why spay & neuter is so important. If we can slow down the number of unwanted litters in our community, we can save more lives.

Meet Buddy, our Sylacauga Animal Shelter pet of the week! Buddy is a three year old Beagle mix. He's a volunteer favorite due to his relaxed and easy going walking style. He'll definitely try to lead you towards the best smells, as all hounds do, but he takes redirection very well. Buddy gets along with older, gentle/mellow dogs. He was kenneled with a senior shorty, Tom-Tom, until his adoption earlier this month. Buddy's energy is low to medium and prefers to explore the smells around him rather than chase or play tug. If you are looking for a laid-back friend, we suggest you take him for a spin this Saturday from 9-11, during Community Dog Walking at the Sylacauga Animal Shelter.

**He has yet to be cat tested. If you are interested in Buddy and have cats, please leave a message below and a volunteer can cat test him this upcoming week as the shelter is currently short staffed.**
