High school prom feels like a mix of excitement and nervous anticipation, like something important is about to happen. Everyone is dressed up and slightly out of their comfort zone, figuring out how to act in a moment that feels bigger than usual life. At first it can be awkward, but it often loosens into laughter, dancing, and shared moments with friends. It’s not always as perfect as people imagine, but that’s part of what makes it real. By the end, it leaves a slightly bittersweet feeling, like the closing of a chapter.

Hello all!

I have been receiving a lot of Senior Session or Grad Session inquiries lately. I just wanted to let everyone know how I operate my sessions.

When booking a session with me, I always aim for the comfort of my clients. When someone is uncomfortable, it is written all over their face. That is the last thing I want to do during a session, have a client be uncomfortable and have it captured for a lifetime.

I know that, for High School grads, parents love to be involved and make sure that their kids photos look a certain way. Parents have been there, watching from day one of school, their child getting to this amazing point in their life. I am learning first hand what that feels like. I also know that this session is centered on one person, the graduating student.

During the booking process, I tend to ask a lot of questions in regards to what the grad is wanting photographed. If they have any inspirational photos, additions or locations on a campus that they want photographed. I have had clients with glitter, champagne, their degrees and achievements. I have had clients have their parents in the photos with them, sharing the same school for their graduation. If you want something photographed during your session, I am going to do my darnedest to make it happen.

Last year, my best friend graduated with her MASTER'S. I am so beyond proud of the hard work she has put into her career and am so beyond blessed to be part of her life these past 20+ years!!! 🥳🎓🍾

I am pretty sure, with every session, I am explaining to my clients that a bit of movement, a bit of hair tousling, or a shift in flowy clothing, really adds just a bit more to the photos.
The few photos here are exactly what I mean by those words.
