A few clicks from the c**t starting at Buck’s place in Sheridan.

It was special to be back here taking photos because this is pretty much where it all started for me with photography. Taking my camera to clinics and taking pictures of people and horses dates back to 2016!! I wanted a place to post all my horsey content and that’s where this page “horsemanshipcollective” came about almost 10 years ago.🥹

I know I’ve expanded my lens over the years and you haven’t seen quite as much equine content on here lately but it’s still one of my favorite things to photograph and I try to do as much of it as I possibly can in between weddings and portrait sessions 🫶🏽 It inspires me and refuels me still to this day.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for supporting this dream of mine. It truly means the world. ❤️

First wedding in the Tetons and it won’t be my last that’s for sure. 😍 Colton, Sydney, and their families traveled all the way from to Texas to get married and I got to be the one to document their day. 🥹 When we got to this location it was POURING and I was praying in my car for the rain to stop and God blessed us with a brief window with little to no rain.🫶🏽 It made for thee coolest moodiest sky though!!

while these were from a styled shoot at my retreat last year, let’s still just imagine this for a sec - you rent a beautiful airbnb, get ready slowly while taking in the whole day, say your vows in a stunning desert landscape, have a catered dinner outside under string lights, and spend your first night as husband and wife at your cozy airbnb. Like ok?! I wouldn’t change a thing about mine and Derek’s wedding but I also seriously kinda wish we did this cause it would’ve been so dreamy 🤣🤣

Real talk for a minute 👇🏽

When I first started photography, I was so focused on taking “the perfect picture” like everything had to be just right and almost like “textbook”, I guess? I didn’t really dare to do anything out of the ordinary or that wasn’t perfect and “frame worthy” and frankly I probably just had a very different style at the time.

But the past couple years I’ve felt so much more freedom to just try new things and if I like the way a picture looks, I just like it and that’s that. I guess you could say I’m finding MY art and aiming to shoot in a way that inspires me and hopefully find people that jive with it too. My style is constantly evolving and reflecting what inspires me. Regardless of if the composition is perfect, or if everything lines up perfectly. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right 😉

Like this whole set of photos for example, they’re dark, grainy, some blurry, but I absolutely love them so much and they speak to me. Years ago I would have said oh no it’s too dark to shoot, it’ll be too grainy and so on.

I will say, yes, you do have to learn all the basics first. The saying “learn the rules like a pro so you can break them like an artist.” That’s resonated with me a lot lately.

WOW I know that was a big fat word salad but hopefully you got the point. 🤣
