As Minnesota's amateur baseball season winds down with the state tournament, I'm sharing some favorite photos from the 29 fields I've visited in 2026.

Among those photos are those that depict parts of the communities outside the fences. These are the things that keep the communities going, and things that provide a sense of place.

Here they include grain facilities in Sunburg and Chokio, cropland in Pearl Lake and Essig, active rail lines in Northfield and Fairfax, churches in Avon and St. Patrick, a multifamily housing development in Brooklyn Park, a water tower in Princeton, and a community pool in Faribault.

Here's one last post of Le Sueur Braves photos for the season -- from Sunday's state tournament game against Nisswa in Jordan.

Congrats again on a fun and highly successful summer of Minnesota amateur baseball.

For those not in the know ... after the Braves were the state runners-up in the Class C state tournament last year, the team moved to Class B. Despite the tougher competition, the team earned another trip to the state tournament -- third year in a row. Really impressive. Le Sueur and Henderson are among the strongest baseball and softball towns in Minnesota.

As the season winds down, I'll miss amateur baseball and especially my hometown team. But I'll see you next season!

Congrats, Le Sueur Braves, on a solid inaugural season in Class B amateur baseball. Your fans including this photographer would've loved to see you play two more weekends. Rats. But the future always is bright, and you all are inspiring. (See last pic.) Look for more pics from Jordan in the next day or two. (I need to dash to Le Sueur to take some girls tennis photos. :) .)
